I think the R9 290 is winning because we're voting on a website dedicated to giving people discounts and Radeon graphics are all about price for performance. There are plenty of better cards out there (not just my opinion there are factually higher performing cards than a 290), but because of the website we're using we're among "budget" PC builders.
