M50s are not at all gaming cans. They are mostly bass, lack clarity and sound stage.
Can vouch for the ATH-M50X and say that by far it is the best audio investment i've made. If you can't get them on Massdrop, Amazon usually has them on sale for a fairly good price as well.

People who have owned them and many other cans that are more expensive and cheaper agree that they are over rated, steeply priced (not badly), lack sound stage and clarity. They're fun headphones that have no sound stage. Definitely not a gaming can.
