Why are the 7700K and 8700Ks on the bottom underneath 6th and under gens? That's stupid and skewing the vote.

Totally agree.,.. whats the point of mass buying such an old gen of i7.. many of us aare already banging 4790, 6700 and up...
Does intel still produce 6th generation CPU’s? I wouldn’t think there would be any reason to still make them.
Everybody! I need an i7 7700k! Please vote for it!
How much of margin are we actually gonna be able to cut on consumer i7's? Seems to me there'd be more discount on the 2011-3 socket cpu's rather than the 1151 cpu's on this list.
The only CPU worth buying on this list is the 7700 - why would you buy a 4th, 5th, or 6th gen CPU when the 7th gen CPU's are out. Makes no sense at all. The only choice you might make is in favor of additional cores/threads but even then its doubtful many have a reason for this.
People should also realize that Broadwell has some flaws, particularly ones that conflict with bios and certain software that lead to failures.

look further down, the 8700K is also there!
Isn't the most popular and the Intel Core i7-6700K 8M Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1151 95W the same? whats the difference?

Yeah theyre the same, and im prettythats actually the real one because the base clock of the 6700k is actually 4GHz not 4.2GHz
How many votes does it take to become a drop?

That really depends on a lot of things. You also need to keep in mind if a drop is even possible. If Intel (or a distributor) says "We'll give you $5.00 off per unit" then there's no savings for the member and no profit for Massdrop. Not all polls will become drops just for this reason.

Forever. With little googling just found out that Massdrop has never droped Intel CPUs. Some AIOs, some combos, MB and GPUs, but thats it.
We need to help bring eDRAM to the desktop in a meaningful way
someone should add i5 6600k

why not 7600k and 8600k?
Somebody should do one for i5 CPUs
How long till the voting proces finishes? In addition how long will it be before I can participate? I don't want to pass up a 6700k for a great price if I miss it be a day.
The 4790k has some serious and frequent overheating issues, do people buy it knowing of that or is it not as bad or occur as often as i've heard?

That would surprise me.. I have the little brother.. 4690K (which as not HT) under water at 4.7Ghz, 1.3v since 3 years now.. never reached 70C...
The margins are and always will be too small for these products. If they ever dropped, the manufacturer wouldn't make any money off of them. I wish people would stop doing CPU and GPU polls already. *sigh*

If intel can offer the i7 6700k for $130 for intel retail edge members then they cant be losing that much on them.
