How much of margin are we actually gonna be able to cut on consumer i7's? Seems to me there'd be more discount on the 2011-3 socket cpu's rather than the 1151 cpu's on this list.
The only CPU worth buying on this list is the 7700 - why would you buy a 4th, 5th, or 6th gen CPU when the 7th gen CPU's are out. Makes no sense at all. The only choice you might make is in favor of additional cores/threads but even then its doubtful many have a reason for this.
People should also realize that Broadwell has some flaws, particularly ones that conflict with bios and certain software that lead to failures.
That really depends on a lot of things. You also need to keep in mind if a drop is even possible. If Intel (or a distributor) says "We'll give you $5.00 off per unit" then there's no savings for the member and no profit for Massdrop. Not all polls will become drops just for this reason.
and @whocanduncan. If you guys would like to make a poll for i5's then you can click Polls ->Start New Poll. Just fill in the questions and you're good to go!
How long till the voting proces finishes? In addition how long will it be before I can participate? I don't want to pass up a 6700k for a great price if I miss it be a day.
The margins are and always will be too small for these products. If they ever dropped, the manufacturer wouldn't make any money off of them. I wish people would stop doing CPU and GPU polls already. *sigh*
