Massdrop x RAMA WORKS S01 Remedy Spinner

I can't wait for these to come out! I've held off on buying my first spinner so that it can be one of yours, and then hopefully my only spinner, haha.
Check out the black oxidised brass spinner: https://www.facebook.com/ramaworks/posts/686143974919282
Each person has its own tastes, so I'm gonna make my recommendations based on mine but YMMV. So first of all, I have to say I like smaller spinners, rather than bigger ones. And I also prefer spinners that are made in small batches by artisans, rather than mass produced ones.
The small batch ones are usually very expensive, but some exceptions exist, and some artisans make more affordable ones. Here are my own recommendations (I have several of the below on order or already on hand): - Phat Boy, Phat Boy Nano, Idler: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ShadywoodSigns - Brass Monkey Spinners: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Bottlebib - The Ergo line: https://squareup.com/store/ultraspinners/ - The Dab and its siblings: http://yardwerx.bigcartel.com/
The following, I have read about and am considering for the future, but have not ordered yet: - Spinergy: https://spinetic-spinners.com/product-category/metal-spinners/spin-for-a-cause/ - The iFDGT: https://www.venomdd.com/products/ifdgt - The Falcon and the Maelstrom comes recommended as some of the best spinners one can buy; if you buy only one or two, probably you should buy these: https://flyaway-toys.myshopify.com/collections/all
Finally, these are the mass produced spinners that I have read about and seem to have very positive reviews. Several of these are essentially the same generic spinners that are purchased by US online entrepreneurs and resold / re-branded with different names in US online spinner and gadget stores; so you can get them cheaper directly from Asia (I use FastTech, but AliBaba, AliExpress, Rakuten, GearBest, etc. also sell these). I believe the below spinners are more or less all sourced from the same factories, and it should matter little from whom you get them (I have several on order, to use as gifts):
https://www.fasttech.com/products/6858800 https://www.fasttech.com/product/6837100 https://www.fasttech.com/products/6635401 https://www.fasttech.com/products/6835202 https://www.fasttech.com/product/6837103 (gets rave reviews) https://www.fasttech.com/product/6876100 (gets rave reviews also; very popular one) https://www.fasttech.com/product/7143801 (one of the spinners that gets the more reviews and accolades under different names - since it is marketed under different names by various retailers - and it seems to get 5 or 6 minute spin times!!!)
Some of the above are clones of well known - and expensive - spinners. In other words, these are spinners designed to mimic the look and feel of much more expensive ones that have gained a following. The originals' designs are not patented and it's legal to make spinners that look very much like them; it's legal but perhaps morally ambiguous. Ironically, in many cases the clones spin as well - sometimes even better! - as the originals.
Generally speaking, FastTech and these other Asian distributors come up with new models on an almost daily basis; FastTech had 500 listed!
Hope this helps!
Dat gunmetal tho...

A personal favourite of mine too :P
Can someone explain the present infatuation with these things to me? I keep seeing them everywhere. Hell I'm getting emails from my kid's school telling us to remind our kids not to take toys to school because of them.
I can't grasp why they would be so popular. I see a $1 bearing in about $2 of machined metal. It spins. What am I missing?

1. It keeps you busy when you don't want to or can't pull your phone out. It's an alternative to finger tapping, knuckle cracking, biting your nails, or other negative habits you may have. 2. The end product may be $2 of metal, but that's after buying a $100 stick and a thousand dollar machine and hours of research, design, engineering, and quality control. 3. Under different lighting effects, the spinning creates optical illusions like when a car tire looks like it's spinning backwards.
Is there any way to sign up for notifications on when this will drop or something like that?
Mocked up a few more in paint. There are definitely some nice combos that aren't in the voting.

Champagne is the gold of alcohol.
I know, I love it, but we should have the colors flipped.
Could you simply release few of the best options so we can choose?

that's what this poll is for- to see the best options. They aren't just going to release a whole lot of options with a whole lot of tooling and start up for them not to sell. This is so we can have input on the colors that they do try to release.

Ok, interesting if massdrop will choose the most voted ones or maybe they will actually make it awesome and make some contrast options....since black/black and black/pink doesnt make that much of a difference...
What the heck is a spinner?

The non Urban Dictionary version is a fidget spinner, which is what this is, and is used to keep yourself occupied in situations where you're prone to fidget or mind to wander so you can pay attention or just to have something to play with like a stress relief toy. Kind of like chewing gum for people who are quitting smoking.

608!
Is there an actual S01 that can be spun in a video on the drop date? Would be helpful to really see an actual spinner and not a prototype. I understand that production hasn't happened.
