I don't know how to add options to someone else's poll, but I have the blue yeti, blue yeti pro, Rode Nt1 (not nt1a, nt1 is the revised version) and Audio technica 2050 and a Shure SM51. The best out of all of them in my experience is the Rode NT1. Nearly perfectly flat Freq Response and excellent detail, with just enough touch of warmth. The Blue microphones I've used (granted I've never used the bottle or baby bottle or bluebird, just their yeti lineup) have always sounded cold and lifeless to me, but I have them because they're really convenient. I can drive to a place, open up my laptop and plug it in and start recording, where the NT1 and the Audio Technica's require a mixer interface to the computer.
So what do you want from a best microphone? Portability? Convenience? Sound quality?
