i dont normally agree with pre-ordering. unless you really love the game (previous games in the series) like dishonored. i loved dishonored so i pre-ordered dishonored 2. only game ive ever pre-ordered and probably the only.
though do note some games that can be pre-ordered might come with bonus dlcs free or cheaper.

hat's a major part of the problem. That's why we must stop. If the 'bonus dlcs' contains anything other than an aesthetic change, they are trying to screw everyone. They are forcing you to take the chance that they will release a finished game (which is unlikely), or risk having to pay almost twice as much just to get the actual full-game* (which is clearly a rip off).
Another major issue is that, because of pre-ordering, developers have a greater incentive to sell the idea of a complete game+expansions than an actual complete game.
*it seems often when dlc is involved it is actually major parts of the game locked off from players to incentivize pre-ordering, and/or screw you for another 50 bucks.

TLDR: the gaming industry is gaming game sales by playing players rather than making games
P.S. I know this is a really old post but this is important
i lump pre orders and early access in the same bin (yes i know there different), Because by the time you find out its a bad game its too late.
Pre-ordering games is effectively dead with the introduction of downloadable games. Pre-ordering was really only justified when games mostly came in boxes, and you had to pre-order to claim a copy before they sold out. Now, developers have unlimited copies to give out, and pre-ordering only prevents you from seeing reviews before you purchase, as well as letting developers release half-finished games since they already made their money through pre-orders.
Why would you ever pre order on massdrop? Do you expect the price of the game to change? Not only that but even if you did pre order it, you still need to pay for and wait for shipping.
I think No Man Sky and Mighty No.9 is a good example why you shouldn't pre-order a game.
just checked the game store next to my home, preorder price for BF is ~25usd good luck guys
errr....just pre-order on cdkeys.com or g2a.com. or even greenmangaming.com
i never had any issues using either. usually steam codes get emailed to you 1 day before release.
Why are game preorders bad?

Because the game might end up being very bad and you just wasted sixty dollars

Why are preorders necessary? Just buy when the game is released, reviewed and (possibly) discounted.
