The K70 is the most solid option here, (if you want fully customizable RGB lights)

The k70 don't even have a standard bottom row. Ducky Shine 5 RGB is a better option and have a standard bottom row. The image shows a Ducky Shine 4 Year Of The Horse with Red/Blue LEDs,

I would prefer Cherry MX blue , but I still agree.
Razer wont honor their warranties. Buyer be warned that if you spend money with them the money you spent does not translate to the quality in product you expect to receive. These guys deserve to have their doors shuttered honestly.
Oh man... where to even start.
The reality with Razer products is that from the design phase they're paying little to no attention to durability, quality, or user preference. They are manufactured with intentionally looser tolerances to meet profit margins.
Kaihl switches might be okay on paper, but you can be sure they don't have nearly the same quality assurance as Cherry or Gateron. Razer switched to them and had them make a "Razer switch" to make a higher margin, while having the gall to raise their prices after the fact. It's not even a better switch, it's simply looser and less expensive to make according to their own spec.
Also, Synapse 2.0 forcing updates and requiring an online account to "unlock" the features advertised on the box is simply egregious.
And let's not even talk about how shockingly bad their mice are on so many aspects.
I won't take anything away from you for liking Razer products, but I've been bit once, and I have dignity.
A big "no thanks".

To clarify something, Razer dumped Kailh and uses Greetech for backlit, and Cherry for mono/color and non backlit keyboards now, to my knowledge.
Not that it changes much in every other regard.
I used to like Razer, but I can't justify spending that much money on them anymore. For example, I've bought 5 mice from them: Orochi, Imperator, and 3 Mambas. The Imperator had the left click switch go out. All 3 Mambas have had their batteries bloat and go bad. One Mamba had the sensor go out and another had the rubber grip go bad and start feeling like adhesive. I know these are all mice instead of keyboards, but for the price they're asking, I should not have this many issues.
I'm also not a fan of the cloud-based Synapse 2.0 stuff. One of the big draws for the Mamba (with Synapse "1.0") was that the customized settings were stored directly on the device. If i move it to another machine, it works exactly like I programmed it, no software needed. With Synapse 2.0, you can supposedly take your settings to a different machine, but it's stored in the cloud, meaning you have to install the Razer software and have a Razer account to use it with your settings. (Please correct me if I'm wrong. I gave up on Synapse 2.0.) The Razer driver/Synapse app is also pretty terrible in my opinion.
I have Ergodoxes (Ergodoxen?) with Cherry MX Browns, lubed Clears, lubed Greens, and Zealios (Gateron purple that are kinda like Cherry MX Clears). I find all 4 switches to be enjoyable in their own way. I also got one of those NPKC 17 Switch Tester kits a while back from Massdrop; I was least impressed by the Kailh switches.
haha holy fuck
You guys are savages lmao
Not a fan of Razer boards, but they aren't that bad. They're too expensive for the type of quality you're getting. However, some people actually prefer the Kailh switches. I bought one and returned it, but from my experience, I found that the Razer Green switch feels "softer" than the MX Blue. That can be good or bad depending on the person, but the click is definitely still nice.
The feel of the switch wasn't why I returned it, it was the overall build quality. Some of the keys felt sticky when bottoming out, and it randomly happened so it was an instant deal breaker. This was the first Razer switch iteration, though. Not the new one which is said to feel better and last longer (up to 80M keystrokes).
I wouldn't spend my money on Razer anymore after that experience. Now I'm busy having a love affair with Topre. Don't tell Cherry pls. ;)
I think this poll deserves a novelty keycap drop to commemorate it.
Razor is a good entry level mech Imo. Like dipping your toes in the water before you jump in. I owned one for a short period of time before getting sucked down the rabid hole and I had no issues with it.

Get a CM Storm at the entry level. Cheaper and day and night better quality.

Why would they be good entry level keyboards? Because they suck?
Why no? They're not *bad*; just... flashier.. ha.

Look into buying a custom keyboard with ergo clears from someone on reddit.com/r/mechmarket. They have a little more resistance than MX Browns, but the tactile bump is amazing.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I know about the clears (not to be confused with some clears that are called whites, but are more whites etc... confusing. But I know the ones you mean... and I have not been able to find them!

There seems to be some confusion about those designations since the different switch manufacturers have switches which perform differently but called the same.
