Well that sucks if it's only offered in steel toe. It's a gorgeous boot, but if it's only offered on Massdrop as a steel toe then I'll stick to Timberlands
I think the color of the 2412 makes it looks much more casual than other heavy duty boots, And i have heard they can be a great hiking boot once worn in if you're similarly inclined to wear heavier more durable full-grain leather instead of significantly lighter synthetic alternatives.
I like that they are waterproofed with goretex, and I really like the look of them .
Their steel toe and durable build means I could wear them everyday, work and out bush, without having to worry about wear and tear, because I abuse my boots when I wear them, I put them through hell.
And they'd be much warmer than my Merrell Moabs, for winter hikes.
They have my vote.
As a Red Wing sales associate who has personally tried on each of these styles, I just want to make it known that the 2412 is a steel-toe, puncture-resistant, insulated work boot. It is NOT a casual boot like the other Red Wing Heritage options and is not going to be as comfortable of an everyday boot.
