The amp in the DX7, or DX7S rather since the DX7 seems to have been discontinued, is pretty rubbish. 10 ohm output impedance, and 20 ohms on the balanced output. Seems like they spent a lot of time getting the DAC right, then the boss came in and said "You know there is supposed to be a headphone amp in this too, right?"
Vote all you want, but Schiit DOES NOT do deals, sales, group buys or any other discounts. The best price that you will pay for new Schiit is their retail price. This is right on their website: http://www.schiit.com/about/about/on-deals

It is only insanity if it does not work. It will work this time; I can feel it!
Jotunheim, no contest. You can get the multibit dac for it now. It has full balanced out so you can put those 4pin XLR cables to use and it's actually noticeably better when you have a good source. This dac/amp is all about separation of your left and right channels. The only way to really beat it with the same brand is to spend much more on the Gungnir dac with multibit, then Mjolnir 2 headphone amp.

Why bother with the Multibit DAC though? It is worse and costs more. Not that it really matters since both are transparent well beyond human hearing anyway, and Schiit does not do deals.
