A pair of monitors under $200 is probably not worth purchasing.

In love with my pre sonus e5's. Normally 300, but I found them online for just under 200$

If you have a second check this video out, these guys have sparked a few ideas for myself.
I, and every other I know had their AV-40's die within 3 years due to bad design. Get something else if you want a REAL studio monitor.
I own Mackie CR4s. They have a great sound and bass. A very good pair to start off with no compromise (besides the non removable power cord) .
i've owned the av-40s. they're a great pair for under 200. eventually i upgraded to some rokit 5s

they are indeed, but i scored the av40s for $80 on B&H so it was probably the best bang for buck item i bought in 2015
