I use the Petzl Strix for work and here are my take aways.
Pros: tough, waterproof, stupid proof on / off switch that locks, r/g/b light for maintaing night vision, takes a single aa to power it, light rotates and articulates reasonably well, has multiple methods of attachment, beam has a decently sharp cut off so as not to blind those around you.
Cons: Not that bright (wouldn't use it for trail running or spotting things way out), battery dies just a little too quick for me (then again I am using it while working 16 - 20 hours shifts, not in use that whole time by any means) and there is no strobe mode.
Best use case senario IMO: doing things around camp and such or trying to light up areas that are within 40 or so feet.
TLDR: Versatile, Well Built, Not that Bright, Eats AA's
