I'm hopeful to receive and test my MD Klymit ultralight double insulated. R-value: 4.4
  • Packed size: 6 x 10 in (15.2 x 25.4 cm)
  • Weight: 35.2 oz (998 g)
  • Length, inflated: 72 in (183 cm)
  • Width at head end, inflated: 40 in (102 cm)
  • Width at foot end, inflated: Tapers to 32 in (81 cm)
  • Thickness, inflated: 3.2 in (8 cm
Clearly, the best pads are the Exped and the BA Q-Core. I still don't love any of the options because my partner and I each have the TR NeoAir Xlite pads, that weigh 12oz each. 2 pads = 24oz. I'm hoping to see a TR NeoAir Xlite double in the near future that can rival the combined 24oz weight of two Xlites.
Here is my spec comparison. The Exped (smaller size) is the lightest, at 32.1oz with 41"x72" dimensions and 3.3 r-value The Q-Core is next at 38oz, 40"x72" with an 'up to 15°' temp rating (but why buy it if it has ~ the same dimensions of the Exped, yet weighs 6oz more?) The Exped (larger size) is next at 41oz with a generous 51"x78" and 3.3 r-value I don't consider the Klymit Double-V an option because it is the same weight as the Large Exped, yet has a crappy R-Value with smaller dimensions.
You get what you pay for.
