I don't wanna be that guy, but keep in mind that StarVR has a far better FOV and much more pixels. For those of you concerned with video quality... (Star VR)

JojobeesStar VR does have a wider field of vision and more pixels, but its still being developed, many have reported choppiness, and that it has very bad optics with a very hard to hit sweet spot. Dont get me wrong they are still underdevelopment but some are saying its going to be expensive, much more expensive than the Vive, and that it most likely will be not for consumer release, at least initially, it will be installed in Arcades, and IMAX theaters.
and as for gaming both Oculus and Vive beat it hands down due to the wide support by VR developers, and both having better sets of controllers.
I am not saying that will or wont change with time, and most likely it will build a good list of compatible apps and game, and maybe release a great accessory for controlling games, but that will take a while. A good while, so much so, you might as well wait and buy next gen Oculus or next Gen Vive (except we have no idea if the release trend for Oculus and Vive will be closer to phones or consoles).
In my opinion, and this is just my opinion, if you are getting it for gaming there is absolutely zero reason to wait on an unknown (could end up great or really bad) such as Starvr, gaming on Vive and Oculus are beyond immersive, it feels... so real, especially the vive, you can't explain it to anyone, no one really "gets it" till they put it on.

JojobeesThere's also no GPU in existence capable of running StarVR.
