Not a lot of film shooters out there I see. I prefer Nikon because of backwards compatibility, using an F100 or even F4 I can still use modern Nikon F mount glass, whereas Canon changed from the FD to the EOS mount early in the 1980s. Canon, being made for amatures for decades, the quality and aftermarket value just isn't there for Canon like it is for Nikon. Everyone who praises Canon as the ultimate brand and laughs at Nikon users simply don't know what they're missing out on. Canon digital cameras went the route of landscape photography or portrait work early on in the digital era, while Nikon went more for speed and FPS for sports photography, but the two have both closed the gap in recent years I believe. Whichever you prefer, just make sure you aren't choosing one over the other without having used both fairly.
Fujifilm
All are capable. One angle to consider is quality control. Canon is not great in this area and their glass tends to express a great deal of variation. Nikon and Sony are more successful and far less frustrating as a result. Again, all are capable... so long as you get a good copy of the hardware.
Fuji is the most fun to shoot with imo and ends up with great images.
If you’re set on mirrorless, Sony’s currently killing it in that space.
Professional photographer here. Any modern system produces fabulous results. It's not a simple matter of brand. I guarantee I can produce a better image on an iPhone 5 than most of the punters commenting here with their Leicas and Hasselblads. Knowing your platform inside and out will get you great results.

Agreed -- even the majority of consumer grade kit and camera phones today teke great pictures if you know what you are doing. If you are looking for good quality pro or semi pro gear, any of the major brands will sort you out nicely. I voted Sony only as I'm bought into the brand and got the feeling this was related to which brand to focus on buying parts for.

Definitely Agree. My family has always bought DSLR's. 7-8 years ago when we bought our Nikon D3200, it produced a great image even for today's standards. Although, now people are asking me how I produce better photos than DSLR's on my iPhone XR.

Sony is fire, but I have a Canon so I have to stay loyal :)
Couldn't help noticing the rather alarming number of folks who fell for this bit of click-bait!

Fujifilm.
well i have limited experiance with other brands but the ones that i have had my hands on were all less desireable then my almost 13 year old pentax camara wich is still not giving any hickups after rebending the springs for the batteries and if thats not enough its still makes better photo's then a lot of new ones
Good choice, but the poll says "amateur hour" all over it. There should have been a range, either for cost or expertise, as that would have given some perspective How about a poll for favorite post-processing of digital images? I'd like to see what the community works in.
It's all opinion in the end! I shot Canon ( 5DM3 & 7DM2 ) for 4 years. Then the Fuji x100f sparked my interest in the brand. Now I don't own a single Canon item and switched to Fujifilm and haven't looked back.
Fuji :-)
I’d have to say from shooting on my Sony A7RII from my Canon 80D, I much prefer the Sony due to the fact of 4K shooting, 42.2 MP full frame sensor, phenomenal color, the choice of Slog or cine options for color grading and amazing low light capabilities. But all in all it depends on what you are shooting and what you’re using the camera for.
