Bring back the DT770 premium 600ohm!
199X please...
The DT880 are probably my favorite all-rounder cans. They go great with gaming and movies and electronic music. Please do a version with a detachable cable and I'm in.
DT990 with reduced treble spike and detachable cable might be good
Hmmm... why do Beyerdynamic's flagship models (T1 and T5p) get the fewest votes? The T1 and T5p are some of the best headphones in the world.

Agreed. Have had my eye on the T1 for a bit. Would be great if it had more support.
I think the the 880 editions are the best ones,
Here's a link to some measurements that are uncompensated (raw). They use a slightly different method of measurement. The measurement microphone is at the entrance of the ear canal (for headphones) instead of at the eardrum. http://reference-audio-analyzer.pro/en/param6.php?&idhp=796&idhp1=564&idhp2=565&idhp3=803&idv796=796
I’ve never tri d any byerdynamics. But one with massdrop taking part would love to give it a try as long as they keep the “ear clouds” that I’ve read the ear pads labeled as.

Hah thanks for your post! Lots of your thoughts match with the broader discussions on Massdrop. We take all the discussions, votes, and purchases on MD into account when determining the details of our collaborations.
The DT7XX (detachable, Tesla driver, better colorway) at 199 was the first thing we pitched beyer in 2015. Sadly it wasnt possible from a cost perspective. I cant say much about the specifics there, but consider that many companies (across most technical product industries) sell their popular, affordable but iconic models at break-even or a slight loss to maintain market share. And that's at the manufacturing level, let alone when you get to the retailer level where Google indexes the lowest prices first in shopping searches so you might take a loss as a new retailer to attract people who you can sell more stuff to (at a higher margin) later.
We've been working with beyer to figure out the right path since 2015 and it's been a long road, littered with prototypes that couldn't quite make the cut.
Thankfully, the journey looks to be nearing an end. We have a prototype of a DT1770, retuned to smooth the Mt.Beyer peaks, and present the mids evenly without taking away from the deep bass rumble (along with a host of other beneficial changes).
More details to come soon, but based on all the information we can sift, this should get the community pretty excited.

A Massdrop 1770 is definitely a way to drive more interest in Beyer's higher higher end offerings. I love my 1770s and drive them off of the Darkvoice I got here on MD (it helps tame those BD treble peaks).
Good luck with the drop!
Hopefully whichever model they choose to collab on won't have a coiled cable!

FWIW: I strongly prefer the coiled cable on my DT1990s. "Diff'rent strokes..."
Please baby Jesus..... Gehova.... Tom Cruise..... Ron Hubbard...... allah....... BEYER 1990S Pros!!!
I can’t wait.... The minute I see them on sale they are mine and I will sleep with them in a hyper allogenic cover with memory foam padding so they do not get hurt from my icy stare and questionable groping. Lolz

Everyday!
Me three. $399 open box from auth. dealer (!). Set for life...
There seems to be A LOT of space between the 199 price tag of a DT990 Premium and the $599 price of a DT1990 Pro. I wonder if MD and Beyerdynamic could squeeze some higher end components into the DT990 chassis (like a removable cable) and offer up a DT9XX or something along those lines?

Certainly see why you’d say that, but opinions are like super nice people all over the web. Keep listening!
