Intel isn't ready to work with the Massdrop community, so I will have to close this poll. If I'm ever able to source CPU's you'll be the first to know.
no 3930k?
Im glad to see that the Bugatti is getting attention. That thing will run circles around all of the other processors on here, nothing can keep up with it.
Kudos to the guy who put Bugatti in the list, it made my day
WHAT! I got an i7-4770k Haswell for under $200 on black friday, so I don't get what black friday "didn't deliver". I doubt Intel or AMD would give Massdrop any deals, you'll have better luck finding something on http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/
Wah, Intel is better than AMD. You're stupid if you buy FX chips. Urrhurrr.

Intel is also much more pricey. It's a fair trade off, and frankly most of the power in modern Intel chips goes to waste for most people.

I was making fun of the fanboyism. Neither option is "better."
Is this a joke?
There is no way this is going to happen. Retailers already sell CPUs for very little markup and places like Microcenter probably sell at a loss. I think Intel usually sells 1000 at a time.
There's no way that a company like Intel or AMD are going to give any substantial discount. The only way would be to go to a retailer but I don't know what kind if bulk discount they get and if they would give any discount either

There's nothing unique about this website's 'scheme'. They attempt to generate interest in a product and reward that interest with a discount. This isn't revolutionary.

That's an oversimplification of what Massdrop is. Bulk discounts are given primarily to companies that are moving large amounts of products, not to the general consumer. It doesn't have to be revolutionary to make a manufacturer pause for thought.
why go as low as I5 processors? why not go up to I7?

Yeah, but the point of massdrop is that you can afford more expensive things, right? I went for an i7 and I'm glad I did.
Don't get me wrong, Intel processors ARE generally better: they're hyper-threaded, use less power, have integrated graphics and last longer. But, saying an Intel processor outperforms AMD in gaming is like saying a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 outperforms a Toyota Camry in city commuting. Sure, it's a faster engine, but even the Camry's gets bottlenecked by traffic. With the right GPU, you can maintain 60 FPS+ on max with 4 year old mid-range CPU. So, at the end of the day, if you are building a budget gaming system, you'll get significantly more cost efficiency getting an AMD CPU and allocating the extra $100 into the GPU or an SSD, since those will boost your FPS/Graphics/Load Times significantly more. Makes me cringe to see companies like Alienware making "gaming desktops" with a $300 CPU paired with a $150 GPU. Generally, you hit a bottleneck as soon as your CPU hits half the price of your GPU.
