I noticed a couple of Maxpedition bags on here and am surprised they haven't received more votes. I own a couple of their bags and, while a little on the expensive side, are pretty much indestructible. I'm a road warrior software consultant and travel 80% of the time. My Vulture II carries ALL of my gear (one or two laptops, cables, cords, kindle, tablet, etc. etc.) and has done so now for nearly 5 years without so much as a ripped seam or torn strap (which is more than I can say for my last three bags).
If you haven't reached out to them, it's worth the effort as their bags are solid.
Had a GORUCK Radio-Ruck for 3-4 years now. Solid bag, and I've scoured for something possibly cheaper with an equivalent build quality, minimalist functionality, and styling, and I havent found anything that inspires confidence enough to open the wallet. My RR (similar in size to the GR0 I think) has been going strong, and hopefully they do something here, because I'm getting ready to plunge on a GR1 for a bit extra room.
I added the First Tactical Tactix 1-Day Plus Backpack to the poll. I'm using one now for EDC as well as overnight excursions. I also used it as a three-day pack for business travel. This pack is everything I wanted and more. Lots of storage options, plus a less overt MOLLE/PALS system for unlimited customization. First Tactical's customer service is top-notch, and I'd heartily recommend their products.
any progress on go-ruck? or are they a solid no for massdrop?
Any word on GORUCK recently?
Hey guys,
I wanted to give you a quick update.
We have contacted GoRuck and are waiting on a response from them. We'll get in touch with them again if we don't hear back from them.
Meanwhile, we'll look into the TAD FAST Pack.
Thanks.
Hi all,
GoRuck is on our list of manufacturers that we are working on. We will keep you updated with our progress on GoRuck.
Thanks!
When in doubt, sizing advice from their site: If you’re under 6 ft (1.83m) tall: GR0. If you’re 6 ft or taller: GR1.

It looks like GR1 comes in 21L, 26L, and 40L. https://www.goruck.com/GR1#gr-tabid_0
The 21L GR1® is 18" tall and the 26L GR1® is 20" tall. The Classic 21L GR1® fits all shapes and sizes. If you’re ~6’+ and/or want 5 additional liters and 2” of additional height, go with the Larger 26L. When moving through airports, commuting, or rucking, the goal is for your ruck to be high on your back. No matter how tall you are, the 21L will rest 2” higher than the 26L. When in doubt, go with the 21L
