The thing about the Herman Miller chairs is that the base models do not have nearly as many adjustments as a more expensive version of the chair. I have a Mirra. I believe one of the mid range models of it has lumbar adjustment. Without the adjustment cranked up, many office chairs have sub-par lumbar support in my opinion.
I ended up getting a top of the line Mirra at a discount from here: http://www.madisonseating.com/ It's also a good place to do research into feature sets.

Is this site legit? The prices on the leap seem ridiculously good.
*edit* I will respond to my own comment, after researching the site for anyone else curious it doesn't seem legit. Most of what they sell is refurbished, and comes with no warranties or guarantees.
i need the embody in my life. please!
I've used the Leap at work for the last eight years, and it's been wonderful. Can't comment on the others, but the Leap is very comfortable and adjustable.
I have an Aeron at work and it feels terrible. I hate the mesh material, despite the ergonomic design. It is not soft or comforting by any stretch of the imagination.
1/2 of these chairs you can get off amazon for already 50% off. I got the Boss Black LeatherPlus off amazon for $100 when it was on sale with free shipping.
I'm in need of a new chair. Lets get this drop moving!
I'd seriously consider the leap as number one, then the Mirra as the number two. The Aeron just has too many problems on a per user basis to suggest.
I own the Leap and have tried the aeron and the embody, and I must say, the leap wins.
Vote for whatever you want, however.
Just be aware of the problems that plague the aeron.
The aeron chairs are over hyped junk imo, we broke ours multiple times over the course of two years. I added the best chair I have ever used in an office to the poll (HON pillowtop). It isn't al fluffy or anything. Just nice padded thick leather.
I would definitely like to know if we will be able to customize these to. Also, I have both Aerons and Leaps at work, my primary office chair being the Leap, and they are both extremely comfortable. I'm in need of a chair for my home office since I'll be working at home more. Thought I would bring this up since people may not be familiar with the Leap. You wouldn't got wrong with either.
I just thought I'd chime in here as I bought a Mirra about a year ago and I have an Aeron at work.
I purchased the Mirra after much researching over the Aeron and the Embody. I didn't buy the Embody because of it's price and I had read some reviews that weren't all as positive as you would expect with a chair that retails for almost $1200. But mostly, it's price tag.
I also did not buy the Aeron because the Mirra is a little more flexible, one size fits all, where you need to buy a particular size of the Aeron to match you. Not a huge deal, but coupled with the Mirra's many color options I had a clear winner.
I LOVE both chairs and I don't think you can wrong with either. The are fairly similar with the exception of the molded back on the Mirra (which is much more comfortable than you'd expect) and the Mirra allows you to change the seat depth with this flexible front option. They are extremely comfortable and adjustable, if you decide to pay extra for those options.
Herman Miller is also working on a Mirra 2 which is yet to be released. I'm not sure if the changes/revisions will be worth waiting for, but it's unlikely.
Another question to note is, can we customize these chairs when we order them? Or will there be a set chair to order? The chairs do not come standard with lumbar support, colors, adjustable arms, etc. I will not be participating in this drop, but I would like to inform people with what I know. Any other questions, just ask!

I have seen a number of drops where options are provided so I think Massdrop would provide the various options for the selected chair.
they both look good vote for herman
If you want a chair that breathes go with the Aeron!
Has there ever been a similar massdrop?

Reconsider the aeron as it was pushed out for style/design. I wanted one for a long time until I found that out. The Herman Miller Embody Chair is a much better chair for your back. I would like to replace this terrible chair I am currently using with one. Lets get some votes up for the Embody Chair!

I sit on one every day at work, for 3 years now. I guess in comparison to the Embody it might be worse, but the Embody is also more expensive and I like the Aeron. It's durable and comfortable.
