Honestly the d5300 and D3300 blows the canon t5i out of the water in terms of outright performance and bang for buck I wish the d5300 would have won instead of the d3300.
Should have included the Pentax K-s2. Body for under $500 and body with 2 kit lenses for under $600 (those are current retail). Weather resistant, articulating screen, KA mount for all lenses including old film lenses, full features including Pentax TAV mode, Independent dials for aperture, ISO and shutter speed. Just a great all around entry level DSLR at a very reasonable price point.
