Hey everyone,
Unfortunately, we've heard that P.W. Akkerman will not be able to work with Massdrop, mostly because of limits on production capacity, and also because of their pricing agreements. That option has been disabled - but I do want to let you know that they were grateful and impressed at being voted #1 in this poll, and were very nice when declining to work with us.
I'm disappointed that we couldn't make this #1 option available, but you can order directly: P.W. Akkerman ink - http://www.vulpennen.nl/en/inkt-and-vullingen/AkkInkt000.html
And, of course, I will be happy to follow up and ask again at a later date. In the meantime, I will keep working on all of the most popular brands that have been voted on here. Thanks for voting!
Hey everyone -- We've been able to make De Atramentis inks available, but I've left the voting open on this poll because it was not one of the most popular options. You can join the drop here:
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/de-atramentis-standard-inks
We also were able to make Rohrer & Klingner available, but left voting open for the same reason. You can request a rerun of Rohrer & Klingner Writing Ink here - https://www.massdrop.com/buy/rohrer-klinger-writing-ink
I always work on the most popular options first, but sometimes others become available sooner. I will keep working on the most popular options in this poll, especially Akkerman and Bungbox. Thanks for your patience as we work to establish more relationships with international brands!
No, you're just voting what you would like to see as a drop.
Sorry I'm new to this: when you vote here is that a commitment to buy the product if it wins or is it simply voting to see which products will drop?
I added the Iroshizuku inks because they're wonderful, but very pricey as imports in the full-size 50-mL bottle: the newer half-ounce bottles would make it easier for anyone to have an array of their gorgeous colours. I have eleven full-sized bottles which I bought in Japan a few years ago — they're very inexpensive there, it's like buying Diamine or Private Reserve in North America — but if I could get a few more colours I would jump at the chance.

Hey @pyramus -- Love the participation, and we'd love to get Iroshizuku back on the site... you can request it here - https://www.massdrop.com/buy/pilot-iroshizuku-bottled-fountain-pen-ink
Unfortunately, our vendor is not able to make any Namiki products from Pilot available now. I don't expect this will change in the near future, so I've disabled the option, but I will keep trying!
I would love to see some of De Atramentis's scented inks. I added Lavender and Tobacco, but there are many other good candidates.
Hey everyone -- I am working on Akkerman right now and will post updates later.
It looks like a small order of Bungbox will be available sooner, so please take a moment to vote for, or add, your favorite colors here:

Small question: I would also be extremely interested in Sailor inks, as they're crazy expensive where I live. I see user scalablecory added them, but I'd like to know if the options for this poll were chosen after a preliminary agreement with a certain seller, for a limited group of brands. Truth is, Montblanc and Sailor are the largest brand that Gouletpens.com doesn't offer. Considering this, only Akkerman, among the original options of this poll, would be end up not being available through Gouletpens. But the Dutch brand happen to sell their inks directly through their website, so finding them wouldn't be an issue anyway. Can you confirm this, at least in order to help members make up their mind while voting? p.s.: Diamine happens to have a direct online shop too. The prices are higher there, due to the almost endless stock of every ink, but if you were to look for an extra-US agreement for the brand, probably talking directly to them would end up being the better solution. I don't think anyone could offer a lower discount than the manufacturer itself, as long as the order is large enough. And as long as they agree to cooperate, clearly.
I added the Akkerman pen wiper to the voting poll. I've always thought if I ordered ink directly from Akkerman, I'd get the pen wipe was well.

I second your idea. If Massdrop were ever to find an agreement with Akkerman for their inks, adding the option to buy a penwiper would certainly be profitable for both.
Bung Box and Akkerman are rather hard to get in the United States and have good reputations. Diamine is easier to into one's pens, but not as ubiquitous as Noodler's - they have a ton of great colors and the inks are well-behaved.

Diamine is as ubiquitous in the EU as Noodler's is in the US. But being Massdrop US based a drop for Diamine inks would be much more "exotic", as Noodler's drops are for us who live in Europe. Basically, in the US Noodler's inks are easy to find and with low prices, while in Europe only larger shops sell them and at twice the price of the US. Now some slightly modified copy-paste: in the EU Diamine's inks are easy to find and with low prices, while in the US only larger shops sell them and at twice the price of the EU. Do you get my point now? Now, the deal breaker would be Massdrop importing them directly from the EU. Diamine is UK-based, but considering how strong the British Pound is they might even find it cheaper in other european countries. Consider that in my reference shop in Italy, Diamine ink costs 3€ (~$3.3) for the 30mL bottle or 8€ (~$8.8) for the 80mL one. And that is the price without the discount that Massdrop might get for high volume orders. And a drop for 100+ possible colors would likely hit the roof. That said, it's really impossible to make a direct confrontation of the two inks to find an overall winner. The guys at Noodler's, in pure american style, love tinkering with new properties (Polar etc.) and fancy effects (Ghost ink etc.), while Diamine folks, with a much more British approach, focus on testing new formulas and dyes to get new and original shades.
Tl;dr VOTE DIAMINE
I am going to strongly encourage people to not vote for the luxury brands here, even if it means not voting for your favorite line of ink. Like the current J. Herbin drop, this drop is probably going to mean buying multiple bottles of ink, and buying multiple bottles of an expensive ink is still going to be a big purchase. Even with the discount, the overall cost may be prohibitive. On the other hand, buying cheaper inks in bulk can get us more ink for the money than possibly any of us have gotten before. Also, brands like Diamine (which is what I voted for, although De Atramentis or Private Reserve would work too) have such a variety of colors that there are going to be so many more options which is important especially when people have to make multiple choices. With the J. Herbin drop, there weren't even five ink bottles I wanted, but fewer people will have that problem if they have more options.
Just a little heads up to my fellow pen lovers, as I always prefer to justify my votes. My #1 is Akkerman as their inks are as good as they're hard to find. My #2 is Diamine because their inks have the highest quality-to-price ratio IMHO, and with the huge number of colors they offer it would be hard for someone wanting to join a drop to be dissatisfied: even if the color you'd like to buy were sold out, there would still be a ton of other inks to get! #3 is De Atramentis, as I've always heard good things about their inks, but I've never had the chance to try them in person. Just my 2 cents, clearly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Just a small edit: Aurora Black is by far my favourite black if not my favourite ink in general. However, I didn't vote to add Aurora to Massdrop, due to four reasons: it's relatively easy to find, it's so cheap (compared to other high end inks) that a drop discount would still be pretty low particularly for those living outside the US who would have to pay shipping, it's offered in only two colors so it wouldn't make a really good drop material, most black ink lovers already have (or have tried) it. That said, Aurora Black is by far my go-to black, leaving other competitors I tried, namely Iroshizuku Take-sumi, J. Herbin Perle Noire and Diamine Onyx Black, in the dust. Aurora makes just two inks, but they do them damn well (Black in particular)! I've heard good things about Noodler's Heart of Darkness, but I've yet to try it (and any Noodler's ink in general, they're impossible to find where I live, at least without having to pay three times their price in shipping fees).

Voted identically for similar reasons, except for De Atramentis. DA has a wide range of inks with pleasant colors (and scents, in some cases). They're more expensive than Diamine by the milliliter but still nice, and I could see myself joining a 3- to 5- drop of DA inks.
