The G502 Proteus Core recently dropped so it's definitely in the realm of possibility.
I currently own a G700s and it's definitely a great option. I haven't noticed any of the issues that people harp on about laser gaming mice, though I admit I've never owned a mouse that could be described as a "good" optical mouse with great accuracy.
Having moved up from the G500, this mouse is MUCH heavier so if you like mice then this isn't for you, but if you like heavier mice and want the flexibility of having the option of either a wire or wireless, this is the best option I know of.
CONS: One big downside is that the battery that comes with it doesn't last very long at all, but you can replace it with a better one since it's just a rechargeable AA. Also, there's a slight latency on the wireless mode which is standard for any wireless mouse. The cord is tough and rigid meaning it will be durable, but it also decreases flexibility of movement. The 3rd and 4th mouse buttons on the side won't be recognized in most games designed only to detect standard mouse buttons like M1 and M2, but I've found uses for them elsewhere like for using macros and voip hotkeys.
If the G502 had come out earlier, I would have definitely snatched that up instead, but the G700s suits me just fine.
