Since this can't happen :( everyone should go vote on my other polls for LGA 1150 motherboards (https://www.massdrop.com/vote/gaming-motherboards-lga-1150) and High End PC Cases (https://www.massdrop.com/vote/high-end-pc-cases) It would be really appreciated and hopefully we can all agree on one of each and snag it at a discount for a new build :)

Its likely going to be the same case for the motherboards, and we already had a case group buy. The group buy discount was negligible and shipping completely killed it.
imo, Massdrop isn't the best place to hope to purchase items like computer components. Thousands of these items are bought every day and a manufacturer isn't going to give a discount to a group of a hundred or so buyers.
Sorry everyone but this won't be happening anytime soon. Sites like Newegg who sell tons of these monthly only mark them up by about 15% from manufacturer prices
The AMD Radeon cards suggested in this drop represent a tremendous opportunity for Massdrop. AMD cards are in big demand in the US because of mining, and that has been driving prices up to ridiculous heights, well above MSRPs. If MassDrop could arrange a deal directly with these AMD card manufacturers, I think Massdrop could easily have prices $100 or more less than resellers like Newegg, making this is an excellent opportunity for Massdrop.

I know it's a long shot, and I don't really expect much of a discount if any. However, I was under the impression that resellers like Newegg are hiking their own prices in response to the mining demand, and if that's the case then I think it's worth Massdrop at least asking a few of the AMD GPU manufacturers if there's a chance of getting a few. It wouldn't need to be a discount off of MSRP, but it could potentially be a discount as compared to most resellers.

The mining craze is slowing down now, at least compared to when LC was in the discovery phase. No one is buying the cards at newegg prices anymore. They're basically being complete asshats for keeping the prices at what they are right now instead of easing it off. Just look at the DCU2 r9 290x. It just came out a week +/- a few days and they instantly listed it at 699. Absolutely disgusting. I would understand if they had it at 679 max but no, they had to be complete dildos about it and screw over their customer base. I could get a 780ti for that price and I might as well (the gigabyte 780ti is actually cheaper than the 290x right now...)
Something larger than 2GB would probably be better. Especially for multi-monitor setups. I myself had 3 monitors: 2x 1680x1050 and 1x 1920x1080 (Main) which would greatly benefit from more >2GB VRAM. Just my personal opinion, I know not everybody has multiple monitors.
It looks to me like there's a duplicate between the Asus Radeon R9 280x suggested by pickandchoose and the Asus R9-280x Direct CU II suggested by pavl. Besides the MSRPs, I can't tell any difference - the first mentions Direct CU II in the description. If it is a duplicate, this is having a potentially significant role in the votes and should be fixed, and voters notified if they voted for both.
The MSRP on the lower-ranked card is also the correct MSRP, and it's $70 less. The 289x is meant to compete with $300 cards, not $400 cards like the GTX 770. My reference is http://m.hardocp.com/article/2013/10/07/asus_r9_280x_directcu_ii_top_video_card_review/#.Ut9uKTnnaMk

The R9 290x and R9 280x are 2 very different cards. The R9 290x is AMD's current top of the range gaming card, the current fastest mining card and one of the first to support Mantle technology. The R9 280x on the other hand, is a rebadged 7970 1Ghz with a price drop, not that it's a bad thing though, as it's awesome value for money. Direct CU II is basically the type of cooler the manufacturer puts on it. Gigabyte call their's windforce, MSI calls theirs TwinFrorz etc In car terms, it would be like MB C63 AMG and E63 AMG. Both by the same company, and labeled similarly, but are very different cars.

Oops - I copied the info from the wrong card into my comment. I meant not the R9 290x by John, but the Asus R9 280X Direct CU II by pavl. It looks like this R9 280X by pavl and the R9 280X by pickandchoose are duplicates. I've edited my original comment to reflect this. Thanks for avoiding name-calling and giving me the benefit of the doubt.
Which one of these is the best?
Sadly the 280/290X cannot be found anywhere in Canada because of miners :( I'd imagine the same for the States too.
Anyone wanna vote for the Mars 760? It's a pretty boss card; yes, it has 4 GB VRAM, but who says we gamers don't wanna use some Blender/Maya on some cool projects occasionally?
Why are people voting for the 4gb? It's useless on 256 bit bus.
The 4gb 770 will win which is sad, because there is no need for the 4gb. Like OmarFW said, no games will make use of more than 2gb.
no 7950 or 7970? Of course good luck getting a drop @$170 for 7950 I guess (from numerous xmas deals). Ever huh? As far as RAM there is a point where > 2GB makes sense and that's multi-monitor.
Why the 4gb gtx770?? the 384bit memory bus limits the usable memory to 3gb max meaning 4gb is pointless... Vote for 780 instead and get a better card with features that actually work.

It doesn't matter how much memory is accessible. What matters is that absolutely no games out there today require more than 1-2 Gbs. Games like Skyrim with modded high resolution textures and lots of filtering etc can make use of 3 Gb tops. I'm on a 1 Gb card currently and run my modded Skyrim just fine though.

What. Battlefield 3 easily crushes 2 gigs. Many games at 1440p and 1600p will break 1-2 gigs. Your claim is invalid.
I'm pretty sure we'll see the same thing here that we usually do with computer components. The margins are too small for MD to really give us a good deal.

Idk I work at Best Buy and there at least there is about a 100 dollar margin on the 2 gb EVGA GTX 770, so hopefully (not really) the cheapest retailer has it marked up enough to give incentive to MD.
