I've never used o-rings on a backlit keyboard. Won't they dampen the leds? Are clear o-rings a possibility?
i have not had any issues with o-rings affecting the aesthetic of my LEDs either.

I'm pretty sure that the orings go on the stem of the keycap, slightly on the actual body of the switch, they shouldn't interfere too much with the LED.
