How come I get this message in an email "We're holding the Gingher Wren Scissors Set of 3 for you. Get in now before you forget!" but at check out the sets of 3 are sold out?
I have used both Gingher and Kai sissors and by far the Kai sissors are far superior. The little ones are so sharp and pointed which work great for applique. The small angle Kai sissors work great for ripping out stitches. They are light weight and the larger size cut so smooth with no effort. I will always own Kai sissors.
I would look at Kretzer Scissors. They are made in Germany and the Finny 8" has a soft ergonomic handle. They aren't as well known because they have marketed more to the industrial trade.
I have a pair of Ginghers and love the way they cut. Only problem is that they are heavy and i cant use them too long. Are the Kai scissors lighter in weight?
I was skeptical about paying for the Kai scissors. I quilt A LOT and sew A LOT. I have always loved Ginghers scissors. Recently, I had the opportunity to try the Kai 8" dressmaker's scissors... OH MY GOODNESS... I NEED these scissors. They cut like a knife going through butter.
I've heard great things about them, too... so if they're offered, I'd buy a pair to try, too. But, I want another set of Ginghers for my RV. :) And I *love* the 5" shears for little tasks around the sewing machine.
Hi everyone....
I hope we can get a massdrop for the new 2014 Designer scissor set from Gingher. These are due out in September. I love my Ginghers... and the 5" shear is my favorite for having near my machine for trimming seams and clipping curves & points.
This is a great idea! Keep in mind these are limited edition, and basically pre-order only, so we can drop them, but we'll need a good number of people to sign up. Lets start with the voting page to see how much interest there is and we'll go from there.
