All Samsung's EVO series SSDs (except the new 850 series) have an algorithm glitch that renders the drive useless. Not sure what percentage of users are effected but I was and Samsung's fixes are only temporary. Based on reviews and forum threads I'd say about 15-30% of users are effected. In the current 2015 SATA III SSD market drive speeds are all so similar that you should always go for drives known for reliability like Sandisk, Intel, and Crucial over the ones that boast performance like Samsung or Corsair unless your going for the branding.
Please get the Kingston SSDNow V300 off the list, Kingston switched the controller from a 18nm Toshiba to a chepo crap one, look it up, it would be appalling if we bought into a bait and switch scam like that. No-one should buy it period let alone enthusiasts.
i have to prove you wrong.
there are plenty of proffesionals that can't afford high end gear. high end gear will make the job easier and faster, but is not required as it can be done with a lower end build as well. it just takes longer.
again, my point being that people that can afford these things will buy it no matter how expensive it is.
hell, i just installed a 1tb SSD ($379) on my PS4 ($399) just because i have no patience
The 850 EVO 250G and 850 EVO 500G are excellent as well. Best SSD's yet. Extremely cheap. 05/2015 (They are pretty much the fastest SSD's on the market, the ones that are slightly faster are easily double the price if not more.) They are also some of the most reliable with 10 year warranties included. Not to be confused with the "850 Pro" series or the "840" series which are inferior.
