real late, but added the Hoka Challengar ATR's, which I have run several trail marathons with and couldnt be happier. If people want to give a real cushioned trail shoe a try, this is the one. They are light, with a durable upper and aggressive tread- and also on clearance at a bunch of places. 75 bucks at the place I saw, which is nuts for Hokas.
The Lone Peak 3.5s are being clearanced out a bunch of places. I just picked up a pair for$75ish. Going to be hard to beat that
I love the idea of the Altra shoes but my problem is that my foot is slightly on the narrow/low-volume side. My feet tend to swim around inside Altras, which means black toenails and rolled ankles, especially since the fabrics are so stretchy. La Sportiva's actually tend to fit my foot better, especially their slightly more relaxed Lycans. The Speedgoat 2's also work as I can lace them down tightly enough. Again, I love the idea of the Altra shoes -- just wish I could actually use them!

Try on the olympus, it feels almost like a regular shoe.
