Alibaba link is dead, this looks like the same one: http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/5-5-inch-windows-7-UMPC_433497429.html
So like, is there a way to get a status update for this?
So, any idea when the price will come?

I dunno, it's from alibaba so that's already kind of a crap shoot from what I hear. I just hope it's cheap.
A Fujitsu UH900, Viliv N5, or Sony Viao P would be really nice.

Isn't the Viao P still like a thousand dollars?

Some models go for that used, but most sell for 200-600 dollars used.

A few, thanks.
So close and yet so far.
I am all for the open pandora but the 5 inch "blah blah blah" is from alibaba.com .
So who knows what you are really getting...
If you want an UMPC then the old Samsung Q1 is/was the bomb. In fact I still use mine every so often. Ill have to take a look for the exact model number.
It run linux like a charm. I even saw a few at DefCon last year.

Seems more like a thick tablet though. Doesn't look to have a keyboard either.
Assuming by some miracle this drops, wouldn't mass drop ask for a few samples first or something to make sure it's legit?
If this actually works and they're able to land a massdrop for the 5 inch UMPC, I really hope it doesn't actually cost all that much given how old the hardware is on it.
As far as I know are they working on a new Pandora. ( Called Pyra I think?). But it still uses an ARM core. Cortex A15 (2x 1.7Ghz) from Texas Instruments. So, no, there are no plans on a x86 one, but yes, there are plans for a new one. They have most of the new one already finished, they are just waiting to get the CPU PCBs ready for testing.
I forgot about the open pandora. However I'd imagine it would cost more, and it isn't x86 yet, which personally I'd rather have x86 for it's software support.
Wasn't an x86 version supposed to be coming out?
Why does this exist?
