We absolutely don't need these. Philips has a history of paying for 5 star reviews on Amazon for these particular headphones. There's probably a reason they have to pay to get them.

Shag, i bought headphones from Philips a long time ago. (3 or 4 years) they were real beater cans and were about 80$ but they were awesome and they lasted all the years i had them. I definitely enjoy their headphones and stand behind having a drop for them. Heres the cans i had: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/philips-oneill-the-stretch-over-the-ear-headphones-black-black/1307721384.p?id=mp1307721384&skuId=1307721384

I'm curious as to where you heard this or read it? I'd like to see for myself - mainly because from my own personal experience, Philips has really upped their quality. I can't see how they'd need to pay anyone if the X2s fall in line with what I've experienced and read.
I can say I've had the Fidelio L1s and they were incredible for the price - build quality way above average and the sound was warm and fun. I haven't tried the X1s or X2s but I can't imagine the L1 is a one-hit wonder here...
Given that these got such positive reviews from several sources, I'd really like to see them here.
