So I'm new to the game. I thought it was normal to spend this much on caps. And to see that there are even more expensive ones is a shock.
I've had these for a while, and I was immediately disappointed with the color upon opening. Photos made it look lighter. But these are in fact a darker emerald. After a while I went back to my stock keycaps and eventually got some $20 clones on Amazon. I can't tell the difference with the drastic change in price.
I tried. This was honestly a disappointing experience. My first custom Keeb. I can't imagine doing a group buy, waiting months/years, spending hundreds, and for what? These prices make no sense.
And the quality argument? My work computers use keyboards that are from 2006. These caps should clean themselves for these prices.
To anyone who has a passion for this, I'm sorry if I've offended you. It's your money and no one should judge you for how you spend it. This was just the ramblings of a man that's out of touch I assume.
Very difficult to find a keycap set that comes in a kelly green to dark forest green hue with white legends and/or alternates. Emerald keycaps work excellently if your build allows a darker shade of green. Great quality and variety for most builds.
you want gmk but budget dont allow? DCX is there to save you... this is my 4th DCX set, i am using it with combination of my other DCX sets, and i absolutely loved them.
I love these keycaps. They’re obviously excellent quality — everything I’ve ever gotten from Drop, from desk mats to other keycap sets, has been professional grade. These keycaps are a deep, beautiful green. It’s definitely not as bright and poppy as a John Deere green or a Starbucks green. (Google “hex code #023020” — pretty close. Drop doesn’t release their color codes.)
I put these on a white Feker Alice98 with Dangkeebs Cookie Dough silent linear switches, and it’s perfection. The quietest and most comfortable keyboard I’ve ever built.
I’d love to buy these again in the garnet color.
Definitely recommend.
