Hey everyone,
Quick update on why the tracking info wasn't updating.
Will talked with Fostex and it was agreed that it was a more prudent decision to inspect all of the Mahogany units rather than take a sampling. The process will only add a few days to the overall fulfillment time and we would rather be 100% confident that no units were affected by the bubblewrap issues.
With that in mind, the inspection process should finish up by this Friday and we will resume the fulfillment process the following Monday. I’ll update everyone once I hear the inspection completes and the shipment is heading to our warehouse.
Thanks for your understanding and patience. I’ll be watching the comments as usual, but expect an update by Monday the 12th or sooner if things progress quickly.

You're not wrong, dropping $400 to wait a month for headphones after i sold my last pair in august is probably the most saddening purchase i've ever made.
I'll work with people here to see if we can do anything about offering the least damaged headphones to people who would like that option, but it might be part of the agreement that we have to send the entire shipment back to Fostex. I'll try to get a response by Monday for everyone.

Since these items are on-hand when an order is placed, a notification gets sent to our warehouse immediately. If I seem short or angry in that update, it is 100% NOT directed at anyone in this drop. You have all been incredibly patient and understanding through all this, and I want to thank you for that. I wanted to try and keep the email more neutral, but this has all been incredibly disappointing for me today.

That answer is honestly disappointing and you will most likely not read beyond this point, but I sincerely hope you do. When a member with an endorsement not on the low end goes around repeatedly posting unsubstantiated claims as facts, it has a bigger impact than when non-endorsed posters say the say ilk and deleting your posts is the same as hiding from the reality of your words, especially for something that was mostly Fostex's fault. Fostex took on an order size clearly beyond what they could handle, rushed the manufacturing, handling, and shipping process, then got it to MD in what they had considered were unacceptable for their customers, meaning you. In the past and still in a lot of service industries, that is considered a plus service. In addition to that, they went ahead (perhaps prematurely) cancelling orders and issuing credit back. Legally, they could have just refunded you and called it a day and you wouldn't get a dime extra for the wait. If you didn't find that arrangement satisfactory, you could have approached their customer service rep and see if they were willing to work something out. That said, headphones in that conditions, they would have to go through great lengths of testing beyond putting them on and making sure sound comes out, because that sure as darn heck isn't what you do for $400 cans. Like, would you seriously want something where it's complete quality could be in doubt? Even if you didn't also like those terms and didn't want to put in the required effort to discuss your case with the actual area of service that could properly assist you, you could have simply wait for more information. However, you instead chose to post multiple times a complete lie that you had no base of truth to ever begin with. Just saying, while MD's communication may have been lacking at times, how they are choosing to deal with this sorry situation is commendable.

Notice to all: I was frustrated and began to doubt Massdrops story, as others were as well. I posted several times saying as much. When I realized that I was wrong, I made the decision to delete them because #1) I was wrong and #2) I probably shouldn't have reacted that way *my bad* and I wanted to remove the negative comments. So, to make Mr. Amoeba happy, I am admitting my frustration got the best of me and wasn't trying to "hide" my posts, I was trying to take something negative off here but, that also offended Mr. Amoeba
Mr. Amoeba, happy now? Probably not, but you are the one chose to pop up and pick a fight with me after I deleted some posts, so again. What I said before.

It appears these threats and musical chairs with different names (probably the same person) is coming from within MassDrop. Repeatedly misquoting me, misrepresenting me and when I respond denying everything I say.
After a brutal beat down and deaths on this site from people mentioned I informed them of the death threats and stalking law and the proper place to report it.
Now they all falsely claim they don't like me following them and are afraid. They have the same right to file a claim with the FBI as they know. They won't since they are the problem. How long does this have to go on? Again, I will defend myself and am posting my comments in the appropriate forum.
It appears your own trolls from within MassDrop are the problem which is very worrisome. First death threats from RiflemanFirst, then death threats from Cambo and a taunting that nobody can do anything to him. Very worrisome behavior from MD.

Here are some tips and tricks for potential buyers who are buying headphones or have already purchased and received the headphones: Q: Do I need an amp? A: The TH-X00 are very efficient and work very well with portable devices. This means you do not need an amp. Now, will they benefit from an amp? The short answer is that like any other good headphones, yes they do. That said, the improvement provided by an amp would be a lot less than say the HD650 or DT770 Pro 80 ohm. Q: Why is there a gap between the wooden cups and the headphones? A: This is by design and has been since the this model of headphones was first introduced in the Denon Dx000 series. Simply Google any one of the following headphones and you will see that each one has the same gap: Denon D2000/5000/7000, Fostex TH-600/610/900/X00, and E-MU Teak. Q: Why does one cup look different than the other? A: Like people, each tree is unique. This also means that each piece of wood from even the same tree will have different grains. Depending on how it is cut and which part of the tree it is from, the differences for wood from the same tree (let alone different trees) can range anywhere from slight to drastic. What this means for us is that each wooden cup will look different as a result. Some of them will be almost speckled, some will have bands, and others may have stripes. For more expensive headphones, companies will usually go out of their way to match wooden cups to give you as close a "pair" as possible. In speaking with Chan from E-MU, whenever you purchase a pair of cups from him, E-MU does the same as well. Q: Why is the cable so long? A: You can make a long cable shorter, but you can't make a short cable longer. 10 ft is more than enough length to fulfill the needs of the widest range of users. If it is too long for you, you can braid it until it is the proper length or use a velcro strap to tie the excess one. If you really want a custom length cable, there are a lot of services out there for detachable cable mods, such as BTG-Audio and PETEREK on Etsy. Q: I have channel imbalance when using the adapter or it keeps popping out? A: Simply put, the adapter that comes with the TH-X00 is not very good at all. Not only does the stress from excess weight pose as a potential risk to the connector port if hit, it can have a tendency to slide out a bit when used with portable devices that have cases on. Hosa, Sennheiser, and a few other companies make a cabled adapter that will take the stress out of the adapter by removing the weight factor. Q: How do these headphones sound compared to X headphone? A: In a vacuum, the TH-X00 have a W-shaped sound signature, meaning emphasis on on the low and high end with a bump in the midrange section. The perception of this sound signature changes depending on the headphone it is being compared to. For example, when compared to a V-shaped headphones such as the Beyerdynamic DT990 or Ultrasone Pro 900, the W-shape becomes much more pronounced. When compared to more laid back or darker headphones like the Sennheiser HD6xx or Audeze LCD-2, the TH-X00 sounds more V-shaped in comparison. A large part of which headphones you will ultimately prefer, will come down to what music you prefer and how sensitive your ears are towards the treble range. Q: They are closed so why do they leak sound? A: While they are closed back headphones, the design for these headphones are more accurately described as "semi-closed". In my experience, the leakage is more so noise going out than in. That said, at normal playing volumes, people will be very hard pressed to hear you more than 3ft away. Q: How do I replace the cups? A: Cups made for any variant of the TH-X00 will all be interchangeable. You can also buy high quality custom wood cups from places like E-MU and Lawton Audio. E-MU has a pretty great selection and Lawton has an amazing if not highly expensive (some of their more exotic woods will almost twice as much as the TH-X00) selection to choose from. The ebony cups that I personally have are around $125 shipped. Keep in mind that different wood cups will alter the sound slightly. In my case, the ebony cups increased the bass and smoothed out the treble. Q: What if I don't like the pads? A: There are a wide variety of aftermarket pads you can pick: - Mr Speakers Alpha Pads - Brainwaivz HM5 - Lawton Angled Pads - Dekoni Sheepskin (attenuation ring recommended) - ZMF Ori/Eikon - Fostex TH-600/900 Stock Pads Just remember that different pads do and will change the way your headphones sound. Some are subtle and others are fairly drastic. Read up on the opinions of others to figure out which ones may fit your needs best. If you love the way your headphones sound as is, it may not be in your best interest to change your pads. Q: How do I change my pads? Fun fact: These can break after in under a year just by putting them on and taking them off your head. The metal that connects the ear cup to the headband splits and the ear cup is no longer connected to the headphones. Happened to me and others. Pretty cool for $400, right? MassDrop considers this legitimate "wear and tear" and will refuse to process a $400 pair of headphones that are less than a year old under their manufacturer's warranty. These sound amazing for the price, but unfortunately, if you want a lasting pair of headphones, I have to highly encourage people not to buy these.

As someone who coordinates dozens of sales daily with custom shipping methods and priority, you have no clue what you're talking about. There's NO excuse for not offering custom shipment profiles. It adds nothing to overhead (most companies actually MAKE money on expedited shipping btw) and does NOT take longer to process orders when you add shipping methods and priorities.
It's pure laziness on behalf of Massdrop and simple stupidity on the behalf of anyone defending Massdrop's stance.

I have issues with intentional consumer fraud, bait and switch schemes and censorship when MassDrop does not like what their customers are writing. If the customer is making it up they would have a case for liable/defamation. I would not put myself in that position and this is not the case. The case is a bait and switch scheme by MassDrop who failed to disclose pertinent information regarding what the customer will receive and what they led the customer to believe what he would receive. I'm holding the evidence in my hand and the deceptive photos from MassDrop on my computer. Lets go to court and let a judge and jury figure it out.

At this point, why not just do yourself and everyone else a favor and sell your TH-X00s? Fully disclose all the issues you have with them and I'm sure you will still be able to get rid of them easily. You obviously aren't getting any help here.

You know when you start posting pictures and making remarks other that what the issue is you start to get into territory you may find yourself you do not want to be.
