Wow. This seems to be a very impressive offer, especially for the larger, fancier designs. The Massdrop offer seems to be well worth it for those looking for a very well respected wrap. After a bit of hunting online (boutique sellers, ebay and amazon), here are some "real world" prices and shipping times for comparison. Hopefully, this will help those still considering whether to hop on board (note: all prices are CONUS AFAIK):
Boutique sellers: Nibs.com has 'em. They have a larger range of products. The smallest they carry is a "one pen" pen wrap selling for $20. They have quite a few more styles/options available but, of the models offered in this drop, their prices seem significantly higher. For example, the 8-pen Blessed Charms is $140 compared to about $100 from this drop.
On eBay, I found the Nishijin 5-pen wrap for about $48, shipping included. I have no idea what the exterior fabric is. The description doesn't indicate either.
On Amazon, the single pen wrap equivalent to that sold on nibs.com is available for $16, ppd. The Nishijin seems to run about $50-$60 on Amazon, as well.
Shipping times range from a few days to a few weeks according to the sellers' descriptions.
In this case, as based on my brief research, the Massdrop price (on all models being offered here) is an excellent deal and the shipping date estimate is within the windows offered by some other sellers.
If this is something you're interested in, this seems to be a no-brainer in terms of price, etc. Of course, you can do you own comparisons, but I thought this might be handy information for those interested.
As usual, I hope this helps.
Cheers.

Theres a Flowering Emblem pattern in a 4-Pen roll, any chance that would be available?
Would be greatly appreciated if you could confirm that, Massdrop.
If someone would be so kind to open a vote for rolls with other patterns (I saw a cherry blossom and I think a temari ones online), it would be awesome.
Is the description backwards for the Sakura and chrysanthemum? From the pictures it looks like the Sakura comes with brown lining, and the chrysanthemum green.
ZhannadeHello @Zhannade and @RemoraThank you for bringing this up.
The samples that are showcased on the description page (Sakura - brown lining and Chrysanthemum - green lining) were available as options at check out in our previous drop. Since then, the Sakura w/ brown lining and Chrysanthemum in green lining were discontinued. Apologies for the confusion, hope this clarifies your concern.
To my previous post, I wanted to add one more thing about the wraps in general. For me, the 8-pen capacity, the suede sleeve protection with significant overhang flap the gorgeous exterior pattern and fabric as well as drawstring/clasp design seem to be ideal for carrying around my most used pens. I find that about 8 pens will satisfy my need for color coding notes and my changing "color mood". The primary reason for my not taking the plunge is: I don't have enough high quality/expensive pens to warrant such protection and the design I'd be particularly interested in (the 8-pen Blessed Charms) is significantly beyond my current meager budget. Otherwise, there would absolutely be a blue star by name for this drop (or a rant about how the one I wanted to buy isn't available anymore).
My lack of participation in this drop is definitely not an indication of my lack of interest.
Okay, that's a wrap. (sorry, I couldn't resist)
Cheers.
Hi everyone,
This drop has become very popular and we are working to make more of each style available, beyond the original 25 of each that were allotted by the vendor.
We've been told that some of the fabric may be backordered, and we're doing the best we can to make more of these available once we have confirmation on availability and timeline. Thanks for your patience as we work to make this happen.
EreshkigalThe interior lining is the same micro-suede fabric in all the cases, but colors will be determined by the artists in Kyoto who make these. We do not yet have word on the final colors chosen for each outer fabric, but they will be carefully selected to best coordinate with the pattern colors.
