Both a water bottle and a pot, the Vargo Titanium BOT is an all-in-one system that saves you weight and space. Made of lightweight, biocompatible titanium, each bottle features a screw-top lid with a temperature-resistant O-ring to prevent it from leaking in your bag Read More
Ok guys, don’t want to bust your bubbles but I’m going to. Right now, REI has the Snow Peak Solo cookset with both a 1.1 liter pot and 16oz mug for $75.99 with currently 20% discount for members. Both have handles and the lid has silicone grip. Total for both is about 5.5oz , or about I believe. Massdrop has many good drops but I wil not be joining this one.
Currently am looking for a cozy for 1l bot. I may end up sewing my own.give it an interior pocket for heater and insulate the outside of it, kinda thing.
z80cowboyI've purchased both 1L and 700mL bots and have just received them. I have use for both bots outside of camping, so I now have options when backpacking.
Vargo already makes a koozy for the 1L bot, but if won't retain heat. I'd be more interested in a reflectix cozy to retain heat.
Sorry for the poor lack or wording. I should have replied "the cup slips around the outside of the bottle making it more compact". I currently work in the outdoor industry, working for a large wholesaler that deals directly with Vargo, and having met Brian Vargo and interacted with his employees, current and prototype products I have a decent understanding of his product line. I'm glad I no longer need to hold this great secret in, indeed all of his products are actually mini Tardises.
Everyone knows a 1L content will not fit into a 700ml container Sherlock...what the original poster wants to know is if a 1L bottle Nalgene bottle will slip inside the 700ml BOT, to which the answer will be a resounding YES
Of the canister stoves I have, these fit:
* Snow Peak Litemax
* Snow Peak Gigapower
* MSR Micro Rocket
* Soto Windmaster
I would think this Kovea would fit too (along with many others) but don't have it to try:

Personally, (so far) I've only been taking mine to the park and on my short woods walks. I take it almost daily though. If/when I get to do a real trip, which will I take? I honestly don't know. It depends on the day you ask.
The Litemax is lightest and seems to lay flattest and most compact. It simmers acceptable well.
The Gigapower fits fine and is great for boiling water. It doesn't want to simmer though, the low range adjustment is too touchy. At least mine is that way. So I won't take it.
The Micro Rocket isn't the lightest but nests acceptably well. It seems, at least in sheltered conditions to simmer the best, which is important to me.
The Windmaster is also quite light but doesn't nest quite as nicely in the pot. I have to put the stove in first then put the canister on top. It burns nicely though, has an ignitor that really works, and I can imagine situations where the better wind resistance (even when using a wind screen) would be appreciated. It simmers acceptably well but probably due to its slightly larger diameter, not quite as well as the LiteMax or Micro Rocket.
Before buying my last three burners (Litemax, Micro Rocket and Windmaster), I searched Youtube looking for reviews. It seemed I could find something like a kazillion reviews stating how light each is and how fast they boil. Personally, I didn't care about which one burnt the fastest, I wanted the one that burnt the slowest (simmered the best). Also, I tend not to burn a stove full blast, it makes me feel like I'm wasting fuel.
I wanted something that I could add 16 ounces of water to a 700mL cup, add a full pack of Knorrs Red Beans and Rice (or other), bringing the level precariously close to the top and be still be able to simmer 7-11 minutes without boiling over. At home under sheltered conditions, my Micro Rocket probably wins out, but just by a tad. In more real world conditions (any wind at all) they'd probably all work fine.
I probably won't be able to decide and take all three ISO burners plus my wood stove (mostly for ambience). Hiking with my dog, they can call me Four Stove Dog. Well, maybe not. :)
I'm old though and my time in the woods will be just that, time in the woods.
As for weight, I'm probably not as much an ultralighter as most here. (I joined specifically to get the 700mL BOT) Personally, I've just lost about 70 pounds (31751.5 grams) of body weight so I'm not gonna fret too much about which burner weighs 10 grams less, just which one fills my need best. :)
Surely more than you wanted to know, sorry about that.
Definitely wiggle-room. A rough guess might be about 1/4 inch. What I do is use a folded paper towel to reduce rattle. (Fold into a square, lay it on the top, then push it down in with the canister)

On the left is the 1L with two 110g canisters, Toaks spoon(not folding), Pocket Rocket 2, and a mini Bic.
On the right is the 700mL with one canister, Toaks folding spoon, Snow Peak LiteMax, and a mini Bic.
The lids screw onto both.
The 1L requires a little giggle to get the lid to slip down around the burner but it fits.
JerkyKenIndeed! Got to off of Amazon for my kitchen faucet cartridge. Before silicone grease however, I would spend sometime (preferably alone ; ), screwing and unscrewing it, as it will breaking in faster without the lubricant. I say alone, because if yours is like mine, it can be pretty noisy. Good luck!
FuzzymuzzleYup, you are correct sir, counting grams is a good thing. That's why I put up with the Titanium BOT lid problems. You can remove coating and polish threads with Dremel. I did.
I’m not trying to be an ass or anything but this 700ml cup and cover is $75? Why? If you told me $50, I’d say okay but still kinda expensive it’s a titanium cup with a screw on cover. It has no complicated machining, assembly or tight tolerances that has to be observed or maintained. I’m probably being a d*ck to a whole community right now but I can’t get my head around it. Please someone explain, I’m probably missing something.
