A brief reflection and look at how far our community has come since joining.
I’ve been in the mechanical keyboard hobby for a very long time. It started as a high school student’s search for a keyboard for writing novels back in the 2008-2009 school year. I thought I wanted to be an author and I felt I needed a keyboard that I could sit down to at my desk and just write. After researching, joining forums, and saving money, I made my first purchase in the hobby, a blank black Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional 2. I still own this keyboard and while it is heavily modded now, it remains one of my all-time favorites.
My HHKB Pro2 with MitchCapped Accents
Many people would have stopped there, but keyboards became a hobby. I enjoyed learning about them, and early on, I enjoyed hunting for them in thrift shops. I would dig through bins at Goodwill and Salvation Army while popping keycaps off with paperclips looking for mechanical switches. I searched for a birthday Model M...
It's been a while since we've hosted a meetup at Drop. We want to change that, and are inviting folks to come hang out at our offices (Corsair HQ) in May!
The Details
Date: Saturday, May 11th
Time: 1-5pm
Location: Corsair HQ (Milpitas, CA)
If you're interested in attending this event (or any future events!), please fill out the google form below. Attendance will need to be capped at roughly 30 attendees given the space (edit: we can accommodate a fair bit more than 30 - only mentioned this to manage expectations as this won't be a mega-event with hundreds; will lean more toward the "intimate" side of things, sub-100).

Finding your groove: getting into vinyl with Audio-Technica
I’d like to think that I could’ve been friends with the late Hideo Matsushita, founder of Japanese Hi-Fi powerhouse Audio-Technica. If I could, I’d travel back in time to 1960’s Tokyo, where a young Matsushita curated “vinyl listening sessions” at the Bridgestone Museum of Arts, exposing visitors to the sounds and possibilities of high end audio and the warmth of vinyl records. I imagine sitting with him in a mod coffee shop, listening to the stories of what he witnessed in those sessions, the conversations he had with visitors, and what ultimately motivated him to head back to his small apartment above a ramen restaurant and start an audio company of his own.
In the histories I’ve read regarding AT’s humble beginnings, Matsushita’s motives seem clear. Produce high end audio at affordable prices, bringing audio excellence into spaces and to customers that simply didn’t have access to it before. His first two products, the AT-1 and AT-3 phono cartridges did exactly that, and...
Hi everyone!
We’re very excited to announce our newest partnership with an affiliate partner of ours, Student Beans.
For those unfamiliar with Student Beans, this new partnership will allow us to bring student-specific discounts to the Drop community. We hope that this discount will help make getting back to school more exciting and the school year a little bit easier.
Edit: Title update
Hey there everyone! Today I'm sharing with you all a set Drop, BarelyTribal, and Myself have been working on the past few months.
This set is based on a stealthy ghost dragon that can infiltrate through it's enemies defenses with ease. This set features a bold pairing of teal and coral, we really wanted the set to be over the top and stand out in your builds/setups.
We'd love to hear your thoughts below. I've also been communicating closely with drop and we think if there is enough interest we could make a match desk mat and maybe even some other peripherals.

Hi everyone! We are beyond excited to announce a major update here on Drop.
Introducing: Battlestations
Our new community, Battlestations, is now live! You can find our launch landing page here. Please read the official announcement from our CEO, Jef, for an additional perspective on why this new community means so much to us.
The new community allows us to feature products outside of the two mainstay communities that you’ve come to know and love: Mech Keys and Audiophile. We know as well as you do that curating the perfect workspace is a very personal endeavor, and also non-trivial. Finding just the right thing for your setup can take a lot of work. We hope that by adding this new community here on Drop we can provide a space for highly-regarded and unique desk items that will be sure to complement the accessories you have already carefully selected for your setup.
Along with the launch of our new community, we have a whole host of auxiliary events and giveaways to...

Hey Panda Fans,
We’re enamored to see how many people love their Panda Wireless headphones. When we designed this product we wanted a truly unique, audiophile-grade wireless offering and your reviews are largely aligned with that. That being said, we’re aware that there’s a handful of different operational and functional issues that may be interfering with your enjoyment of the headphones. Our team has been working hard behind the scenes on a firmware patch to address the commonly reported issues of connectivity (disconnections, skipping, etc.) and inconsistent behavior (control stick unresponsiveness, settings, etc).
We’ll have a follow up next week with more details about recent actions taken. In the meantime, if you’re having issues and want a replacement or refund, please reach out to our customer service team and they’ll be happy to help.
Big changes coming to my tiny little music room, I've recently purchased a new stack. Currently figuring out where to locate it all and ordering up the necessary cables, it won't be too long before I'm up and running. I am now the proud owner of a brand new stack. It's a European brand called Earmen. Amp, DAC, Streamer & Linear Power Supply. It won't be long!
So, after a couple of years being into the watch hobby and since in the meanwhile Drop has nothing to do with watches anymore, I wanted to present you how my budget collection ended up!
Beater: Casio f91w - neon green
Sports: Seiko Midsize Diver SKX013 ( 1997 original - moded with aftermarket bezel )
Business: Seagull 1963 Chronograph ( Red Star - reverse panda version )
Dress: Seiko SNK369K1 ( moded with 70's original handset & champagne dial )
oh & Merry Christmas to the world!! : )
Do products in the same order ship together if they have different shipping estimates?
I bought an order that consisted of products that were ready to ship on Feb 13 and March 29. Will they ship all together on March 29 or will they be split and the orders that are ready to ship earlier ship on Feb 13?
Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?
I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better. I also find that my PC38X don't get quite as loud as I would like and I was wondering if a cheap amp like the iFi Go link would draw a little more volume out of my phones.

I went with the PC38X since it was considered the best bang for buck headphones. I care most about using spatial apps like DOlby Atmos and DTS Headphone:X. Suggestions are welcome.
Here is the build log for my new Clueboard with Kaihl Copper switches and GMK Classic Retro keycaps. Its awesome!
The two sides of the case and the reflective plate for RGB lighting.
Build quality on this case is top notch! Really nice stuff.
Locating and installing lubed and clipped stabs.
Finished and ready for key caps!!

Every time I build a new keyboard, I go hunting for keycaps. And every time I go hunting, it eventually devolves into a desperate search for SA (or equivalent) profile keycaps with a smooth finish. SA is the ultimate profile, IMHO, and they're relatively hard to come by.
Signature Plastics, which is where a lot of SA sets come from like the T0mb3ry SA Carbon
set (they might actually hold the trademark on the SA profile if I'm not mistaken), is reportedly going through some management/ownership struggles (last I heard, they're looking for new ownership), and along with apparently the rest of the industry, they seem to be neglecting this superior keycap profile in their own stocks. If you order direct from them, they have a couple themed sets in stock (maybe), but generally you can have any color you want, as long as it's black or white.
Drop carries a fair number of MT3 profile sets, which are very similar to SA. But just like SP's SA-P profile, they're made with a different...
I lost my dad last year (2023) and have been finding ways to include keepsakes/memories in my workstation. I've dabbled here and there with doing small woodworking projects and attempted a wrist rest from a piece of oak I picked up with him from my great uncles wood shop. I milled it to fit a 60% keyboard as I hadn't decided what keyboard I would be using it on and thought that's where most of my wrist would be in contact even typing on a full keyboard. I gave it a torched/burn appearance as I really was lost in what to do. I found an old shell casing from going hunting with my dad in my hunting pack and decided to imbed it into the end of the wrist rest so it would just have a little difference and a small story behind it as well. I have other things around my workstation from family and friends, but it just feels a little more special having worked on it and adding something small that has a memory for me to it. (Purple was my grandmothers favorite color and I have kinda now...
They should make one in the same style as their SHIFT/CTRL/ALT keyboards. Both in the low profile and high profile styles. They should include a knob and a couple of extra buttons.
Hey DKC, as much as I hope you all are enjoying the membership and want to stick around for another year, I also understand that for a variety of reasons some people want to unsubscribe and not renew the membership—and that's fine! Historically this has been done by clicking "Cancel Subscription" on the Keyboard Club transaction found in one's Transaction history. This can be tricky to find, especially if you have a lot of transactions to sift through, so we've added a cancellation button to the Keyboard Club Member page.
Navigate to the Keyboard Club Member page by hovering over (desktop) or clicking on (mobile) your profile photo, then click Keyboard Club about halfway down the list.
This is the page where you can view your current and past DKC coupons, as well as cancel your membership renewal.
Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, below your DKC Discount History.
Click "Cancel Membership Renewal" if you wish to do so (sorry to see you go! ❤️). Note...
Is it just me or was this place much better when it was Massdrop? Instead of expensive collaborations, it was all about finding good deals that got better with more participation. Anyone know if this place will ever revert to those times or if there are any other sites that might be doing what this site stopped doing?
Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.
I bought my Tokyo60 a year ago and the RGB light worked when I first finished building it. I turned it off after a while cause it was distracting using Fn + Q. But recently, I tried to turn it back on with Fn+Q, W, E, R, T, and Y, but none worked. I tested Fn, Q, W, E, R, T, and Y; each worked individually. Do you guys run into this problem and know how to troubleshoot it? Any advice will be helpful! Thanks!
