UPDATE: My panda stack is back and I used it to power these headphones. The results are in and man am I blown away by the sound. As I stated in my earlier posts they sounded good when used with different devices but I was waiting to put them on this dac and amp combo specifically and wow. Having the right amount of power is key to getting the most out of these headphones. The sound that comes out of them is good whether directly attached to your phone or an amp but I can tell you without a doubt that when you pair it with the amp, the sound is glorious and you will suffer from long and repeated eargasms. I can not believe that price to performance with these headphones. All I can say is wow. I will update this post when my wife brings the Fiio Q1 MK II home from work and the SMSL SAP-9 comes in for those that may want to know if these headphones show any difference in performance when on a balanced output.

FirstOrangutanMy apologies for not posting an update on that pairing, I completely forgot about it. To me (and my wife who is no audiophile), it worked but really didn't push them the way they need to be pushed. Could you do it, sure, but after throwing it on my aune x7s and sap 9 I could immediately hear the sound difference due to lack of power. It was so much so that I bought my wife a Nano iDSD Black Label Dac/Amp ($199) to push hers. That was a much better pairing than the Q1 pairing. Again, it will work, but it is missing that something that pushes them out of the ok sounding zone and into the DAMN THAT SOUNDS GOOD! zone. You will especially notice it in the bass. sorry I couldn't give you better news. Ethan
