I bought a kit that is almost exactly the same but from a different manufacturer on Amazon for $30. This Is not a good deal.

Since someone said this is an OEM of an ifixit kit, can anyone confirm it's anywhere near the quality of the $199 kit?

Not that it matters, but I saw it on Amazon earlier, but absolutely cannot find it now. It was the same as this kit, but ifixit branded and priced at 199.99. Strange.

SintekIt was probably some third-party reseller trying to scam people out of money, and the listing got pulled.

Friends! This is not a good deal. There are countless kits like this out there - all have different branding, but are nevertheless effectively identical. No joke - I just happen to have mine with me at the office today to fix some hardware that crapped out yesterday.
I got mine on Amazon for $21.99 on May 13th this year. As I type this, I am looking at the product on Amazon reduced down to $12.99:

Don't get my wrong - I love my kit. Quality is good, all the bits are magnetic, driver handle is easy to use, extension is flexible and works well. There are some minor differences here and there, but nothing to justify spending $27 more. At $12.99, I'm going to go ahead and grab another one or two kits on Amazon for use as gifts. Best of luck to you all in whatever choice you make.

so this is basically an OEM of the old version of ifixit pro tech.
sad thing i've got the 2016 pro tech already.
39.9 is a good deal but the 2016 version is simply better.
the lid of the driver/bits box which doubles as a screw tray alone make all the difference
