if you update the firmware it will now also work on the Nintendo Switch. i used it a bit with Zelda on my last trip. it works perfectly, though, its not as comfortable as the pro switch controller for long gaming sessions.
Well I got the controller after quite a bit of wait. I use it as an Xbox 360 controller replacement. For what I want it to be, a small portable controller for some FFXIV here and there, it works pretty well. Ergonomics-wise, a full-sized Xbox controller would definitely be my preference, but that being said, the NES30 doesn't actually hurt to use and sits well in my hands. Yes, it's smaller, yes it doesn't have support for the rest of my fingers, but for reasons I can't explain, the controller sits well and didn't cause fatigue in the time I've used it for FFXIV. This might vary from game to game.
It's a pooper that the wait was unexpectedly long, especially for the first 150, but when it's all said and done, I got a pretty sweet looking controller that works for what I use it for. Also, if you want to use it as an Xbox 360 controller, be sure to power it up with power+R1, and be aware that the XInput mode only works in a wired connection. Doesn't bother me, but I know some might prefer the wireless option and will not be able to get it.
Most worthless piece of crap I've ever used. Doesn't work on windows like it claims and barely works on Android.
edit: Turn on with 360 mode using power+r1
No complaints about the hardware - it seems like a really nice controller. My only problem was that I couldn't get it working properly under Mac OS X. But I did a firmware upgrade to v1.69 (released recently) and now it works perfectly. http://8bitdo.com/nes30pro/Firmware.html
Yup - it doesn't hold a charge for long. 2-3 days of not being used after a full charge and it's dead. I don't know if this is just how they're made or a defect. For something that's meant to travel, this severely limits it's usefulness.
FoolthThat's strange. Mine still had battery after arriving here and it lasted me a couple hours. Shipment takes a lot longer than 2-3 days too.
Anyhow I'm quite sure I was not with the first 150 but I must have been in the first batch somehow.
Controller itself is alright (not worth the 26€ customs charges lmao). The biggest issue is that it isn't always plug n play as well as the fact that the A and B button and the X and Y buttons swapped places compared to an XBOX controller. This is normal for SNES but the programs that use it mess up the layout because they are designed with xbox controllers in mind.
Finally got shipping info, but I'm a little apprehensive based on how many people are reporting problems with the devices. I gotta say, Massdrop, for this being my first drop, I'm thoroughly unimpressed. Hopefully the next one will be worth it.
