Adcom is more or less a legendary company in the high-end world. They're probably most famous for the GFA-555 amplifier and the GFA-565 preamp. They used to be kings of top performance at a reasonable price, but that was 30 years ago. No idea if it's the same company or not any longer. A lot of the older high-end companies started branching out into home theater and other markets in the 2000's so it's hard to say.
