I don't understand an inflatable kayak. Between rocks, hooks, etc aren't there just too many possibilities for the kayak to get ripped, punctured?

dabooshThe kayak has been designed for fishing so it uses extremely durable materials and reinforcements to protect against all of the things you mentioned. These things can take a beating, in other words, it's not a pool toy. I have an AE kayak that has lated me 10 years and still goes strong. Even seen old youtubes of a guy landing a marlin on one.

C'mon, someone else get in on this sweet, sweet watercraft!! It's got an aftermarket rail mounting system purposefully designed to support up to two GE M134 miniguns. A drop-stitch floor construction providing the stability and support necessary to finally take your significant other out samba dancing under the moonlight. It's even propulsion capable with a fin box to fit an ElectraFin® Motor. Five minutes and wham, bam, thank you ma'am, you are on your way to Cuba!!
If that doesn't sway you, just check out the video of this thing in action: https://youtu.be/FzLT1wyPTJI?t=6

When I first saw this drop, I was totally hoping it was for the Advanced double. Maybe one day.

I don’t fully understand what you are asking. AE kayaks are very functional. When they say there are multiple chambers, it means that if one chamber develops a leak, you have other flotation, in the other chambers. It probably won’t help if an alligator attacks, but if you have one chamber lose air, you should remain at least partially afloat. The drop stitch floor adds stiffness, so your kayak won‘t fold up on you like a taco. The material is pretty robust. I have four AE boats, though not this one. They are nice kayaks that are easy to set up quickly, paddle nicely, and are durable. Because of the air chambers, they do stick up above the water a bit, and can be caught by wind. Not being hard shells, they aren’t as fast as a hard shell would be, but a hardshell can be hard to haul around. While you may have to fight to get this back in its bag, it should come close to fitting in there. If you don’t have a kayak paddle, then this paddle is worth getting. The AE paddle that I have is a four piece, so it comes apart into little sections. I like its catch. In that respect it is better than most of the paddles I have. Even though it comes apart, it doesn’t wiggle or wobble at the joints. The pump should be good for this boat, too. AE has a host of pumps, and if they sell the boat with this pump, it’s the right one. I love their boats and Ilike their paddles. I’m not in love with their pumps... I always seem to have the wrong kind of pump. There are a couple different types of adaptors, and there are high pressure pumps and low pressure pumps and I am forever trying to dig out the right kind of pump with the right kind of gauge. Just buy the stupid pump and be happy with it. (Or not.) This boat should be stable and last for a long time.

Can we get any experienced kayakers to comment on this deal? Is the only difference between the pro* and non, the 1" accessory rail?

gadgetlamHere's the main differences between the Angler PRO (AE1055) and the regular Angler (AE1006-ANG) models: The PRO is: (1) 10 inches longer and 3.5 inches wider (2) Set of 2 accessory frame systems (front and back) to hold more aftermarket accessories (3) Rigid drop-stitch floor which offers the ability to stand up and sight-cast (cannot stand in the regular model because the floor is too soft) (4) Removable Deep-fin for better flat water tracking. (The fin box also mates with a Current Drives electrafin motor.) (5) Has an aluminum frame seat with mesh/fabric paneling like a hard-shell angling kayak. This offers a higher seating position and overall more comfort.
