When was the last time these cans dropped? I don't have the money right now so I'd have to wait for the next one. Also, how bassy are these?

tequileros97The last time was at least 1 year ago. I know because I was in last drop, so if you want those then I'd not wait.
However this headphone lacks bass. To be honest I was pretty disappointed with this headphone. Mid is also recessed. So if you value either of those in your sound signature I'd not recommend these.
At the time I had the choice of going with Philips L1 and I regret not going with that. But later on I bought Philips L2 so it's ok. And now my daily driver is Denon AH-D2000.
But everyone has different preference so just know what you're getting yourself into.

HydeLooks like I'm going to have to find a different pair, thanks for the reply. What would you recommend for an easy-to-drive closed pair that doesn't lack bass and has great clarity for $130? Looking for something that can handle any genre and isn't harsh sounding or unforgiving when it comes to poorly recorded music.

tequileros97I'm not too familiar with this price range, but just off my head I think you have a few options:
Creative Aurvana Live! (version 1 is made by Fostex, don't get version 2) is about $82 on amazon right now. I personally haven't try this yet but the review says it sounds like a mini Denon D2000 so that's a good indication.
If you can afford to pay a little extra then Bose SoundTrue (1 or 2 both have same driver, so either one is ok) is a good all around headphone that's also very comfortable to wear. I know Bose generally aren't associated with audiophile but I've personally used this before and quite like it. You're looking at around $170 but can probably find cheaper if you dig around.
Third choice is going to be an odd ball, Fostex T50RP MK3 is $140 on amazon though it's semi-open. It's also harder to drive but I've heard report of people saying it's really not as bad as you think. This one will potentially have the best clarity and sound quality out of the 3 I listed but it's planar magnetic driver so just make sure you can drive it depending on what device you use. The stock earpad apparently is not comfortable so you might need to change it which is cheap and easy from what I heard.
Good luck !
