So, I like them so far, but the cable is WAY too long and gets caught in the feet of my chair. Anyone know where I could buy a shorter, (preferably braided) mini xlr to 3.5mm cable?

DrPatrickBatemanNot at a sane price, that I am aware of. If it's only distance that presents a problem, if you know someone handy with a soldering iron, cutting the cable, and replacing TRS connector with a new one, shouldn't be difficult to do.
You could also try their coiled cable, which is shorter. But, it is also heavy, which can be uncomfortable with a single-sided connector.
While I don't have these yet, if they are like most other AKGs, you probably do not really want braided cable, because you will hear every little rustle of it moving over anything, through the plastic housing.

DrPatrickBatemanKTMD mentioned Amazon. I have both coiled and straight cables for my cans, and I vastly prefer the coiled versions because they stretch but also keep more out of the way. Searching for AKG EK500S would get you the 3.5mm plug version.
