FedEx needs to up their game. My chair was delivered to the wrong house. Luckily the person that received it called to let them know. It should only take another week to get the package re-delivered, hopefully to me this time. I hope massdrop didn't pay for expedited shipping. They might want a refund.

This chair is comfy. I picked one up at a Canada Computers (local computer store) last week -- they were on sale. After taxes, I think it was less than $300 Cdn. (I picked up the red K701A model. I think it's the same one they have here?) Anyway, it's comfy and the back and head rests are very nice.
And yes, solidly built chair. It's currently my work chair!

Which states have to pay sales tax? (I'm guessing just the states AKRacing and/or Massdrop headquarters/stores are located in?)

The choice of courier made this drop way more expensive for Canadian customers, and I would not have purchased this item had it been made clear that an extra $98.46 would be added on receiving the item. UPS should not be adding their own fees on top of the actual fees and I advise against UPS to ship anything to Canadian customers again. A little unhappy so far, when I actually get home and assemble the chair I hope this will change.

I just paid 98.46$ in import fees which is just ridiculous I would have never purchased this item if I had known that. I regret not buying something locally.... Massdrop, you should do something about this. There wasn't even a warning or anything that I would be charged import fees. I thought the 35 dollar shipping was already enough.... Extremely unhappy will probably never order anything from Massdrop again and if I do I will be very careful. Will report back once the chair is built to see if this thing is even worth 425$ CAN

dicespinSo did I, a little unimpressed especially since the government of Canada website estimates only $30 import fees, and I feel exactly trhe same about ordering from massdrop again, maybe it's better to just buy within Canada. I think the real issue is with ups, since I've had more expensive items shipped with FedEx and had a much lower percentage added as "duties".

dicespinHi, that was an error, you should have only been charged sales tax. We apologize. This was one of our first drops into Canada and extra import fees were included on your charge. Again, you do have to pay sales tax, but not the other fees. Please contact us service@akracing.com

Darn, I got this chair hoping it would be big enough but there's two parts on the side of the chair next to the armrest that cut directly into my thighs. Time to find another chair.
