As I said on the Ti drop, I know companies change or die, but this drop makes me sad. Al Mar knives used to be about quality of manufacturing and using quality materials (even if they weren’t top of the line materials). It now looks to me as if Al Mar (the company not the man, we lost Al years ago) has decided to compete in the lower end of the market. I do wish them luck, but I think my collection of Al Mar knives is as complete as it is going to get.
Wyoincouldnt agree more. I have two original al mar knives and that's where its going to stay. These new lines look like gas station quality knives. thanks, no thanks.
WyoinI simply couldn't agree more with all that you said. This is not the knife company that Al Mar started. Only the name remains the same. Alfred Mar, RIP.
All three sizes are much cheaper at KnifeWorks. I thought Drop was supposed to be the place to go to get deals so good you can’t disclose the price publicly. This is lame.
Fair enough, thought I'd still favor the cheaper Kershaw. Note, you can get 3M-tape-able clips for the phone - and if you don't wanna damage the back of it, a spigen slim case + clip works okay and its still light compared to bulkier cases
kangsterDefinitely appreciate the tips! Is the 3M clip kid of like a command strip hook, in clip form? I wonder if I could place the clip in such a way that it wouldn’t prevent wireless charging... or maybe a grippy tape would be useful enough.
Having a larger screened phone has been... educational, hahah.
idoc72better than this...but yep, speed safe is a deal breaker for me. I have had too many of those assisted springs break over the years..always when you need it most.
Drop has pretty much turned into a notification service for cool new stuff to buy elsewhere for cheaper and without waiting a month or two. Got mine for 30$ shipped (within the same week) from Knife Works!
Knifecenter has the 2.75 for the same price, but if you want a bigger one, Drop is the place to get it. It appears that KC, BHQ, and GPKnives don't have any of the other sizes.
