Good goddamn! For the social pariah in your life! Seriously, 1337 nerds, don't wear this in public.

DaaaWas just trying to help!
Sorry if you felt the need to stir up drama! Have a nice day!
DaaaDaaa, thanks for elaborating. It helped to understand more of what was behind your comment. For what it's worth, I've found that people who want to nitpick the fashion choices of others generally aren't worth impressing. So if you like something, do you and let everyone else think what they want. Because they will anyway. It's good to know that there wasn't any malice behind your comment. I know personally what it's like to be singled out so the fact that you were looking to prevent that for people is laudable. But at the end of the day, haters gonna hate. The rest of us nerds who are busy getting stuff done need not worry too much about their opinions of our bags. Let your nerd flag fly man! Take care and seriously thank you for continuing the conversation.

Called a flight satchel, doesn't have room for a headset... SMH

Well, I'd say it's not for you if you want to store your headset in it. As I pointed out earlier:
> This seems to be for commuters, not pilots, necessarily.

As @ChuckDee said and I did too. Not the satchel you need. :D This is for pretend a pilot people.

I clicked through to this guy's photo set, and the sewing looks pretty amateur. Check out the bottom edge of the thing here, and the curves right and left;

There"s something to be said for just having it made in China.

And just to add; I've never regretted this purchase- it's one of my go to bags when I'm getting ready to take a quick trip.

I'm in on the drop. I may have to sacrifice it as a gift to my daughter, but it looks like good odds it'll come around again.
I'll email you some thoughts on photographer bags. My biggest issue with lovely leather bags is that I shoot in places like Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Brazil... or in the US, the Bronx, inner city Chicago, etc. I'll share what I, and a few friends, have learned...

Perfect way to get your phone stolen.

AutoPointerI think the biggest flaw in this design is the phone is visible and can be taken out with a single hand. By adding a zipper, it will be much more secure.
AutoPointerIt's probably worth noting that the phone doesn't actually stick out of the pocket. I believe they photographed it that way to show everything it carries.

I would like to see the inside. It looks big enough for travel but not deep enough to allow me to carry plane snacks etc. without them getting crushed.

I would be interested if they put in an inch or so of a side gusset so that the thing would have a bit of "give."

bartgThat would make it bulkier, and less of a flight satchel and more of a flight bag. It has enough give for a laptop in the middle, and that's all it really needs as it was meant to be a pick up and go type of thing to hang on your bag. If that's what you're looking for, then many of the bags out there already would work for your needs. I haven't seen another like this that works so well for this purpose, personally.

If I order the two pocket version is there still a large pocket in the middle? I can't tell from the photos. I would like to use this to carry my 17" MacBook Pro which measures 10" x14".
stevedesignsYes, the large pocket is still on the two pocket version. And the 17" MacBook will fit.

stevedesignsokay great!
I wish there were more pictures of this satchel, not just the closeups. Also, if in a high traffic area, how does the bag lay if you flip it over to protect the zipper compartments, what does the back look like?

ConsumerAdvocateI think there are zippers on both sides. You have the option of having one or two zippers (see lower pictures) on the back, and the front has two zippers and a phone section.
ConsumerAdvocateThat's correct!

I ordered this in December to take on a trip to India. A nice lady (Jessica) tried her best to get it for me before I left to have for my extended trip, but because of the December postal rush, that didn't happen. Now that I've had a chance to use it on a daily basis, and on other trips, I wish I'd had it. Like most things, it's not perfect. But it's pretty darned close under the right circumstances.

There's so much good, I'll start with the bad. The openings give the impression that you can use the entirety of the pockets. You can't. Because of the zippers and the handles, you get a bit less space than implied. But it does work, I have to say.

That last picture is my Surface Pro 4 with Type Cover, and as you can see it's a bit of a tight fit. I haven't tried yet with my XPS 13, but I think it would fit handily. But I wouldn't go with anything any larger than that. But that leads to my next con... the laptop compartment has a lining so you won't get any scratches or anything. But other than that, there's no padding at all. I'm getting another case for my surface pro for that reason. And my XPS has a minimal casing on it. But there's absolutely no protection. But for my uses, that's all the cons.
It's well made, the carabiner is in the perfect place, and even though the use of it as a backpack seems a bit jury rigged, it actually works well- better than actual straps would in my opinion. There were concerns about the phone pocket, but they're completely unfounded.
As far as improvements go, I wish that you could get it without the zippers on select pockets (for me, the pocket beside the phone pocket). It would make it better to access documents you need on the go, like your passport. A little more padding rather than just the liner would be welcome, but not sure if you could do that without making it bulky, and that's one of the major selling points to me- that it's not bulky.
I'd wholeheartedly recommend it, and do think that it's more than worth the price of admission.
