Had mine delivered on Saturday, and I am very pleased. I have a Rhodia pad in it, and it will hold my 10.5" ipad pro with the keyboard, the Apple Pencil, and whatever pen I decide for the day. I tried my M805, and it easily fit. It is nice soft leather, and is well assembled. No missed stitches, and the edges are properly finished. I did request to have my pen slots placed on the inside vs the outside, and I do not regret that request. I will have to see about getting some more items from Allegory if anything catches my eye.
deweeseHi all,
This is definitely something easily fixed for future drops, but I also want to make sure we get you guys set up. The tablets we used in testing and design didn't have that much binding at the top. We always learn something with a new release, and we certainly won't leave you hanging. Message us at service@allegorygoods.com for some options to resolve this. And in the future we will move the slit down so that it can accommodate more types of pads.
FYI,
Just rec'd mine in the mail (3/21/2020), but I have to complain about Drop shipping, AGAIN!
Shipped via USPS envelope, so naturally USPS folds it in half and jams it into my mail box.
I got 6 reams of paper sitting on top right now hoping it will flatten out.
Drop, can't you get shipping correct. This should have had at LEAST a piece of heavy duty corrugated cardboard stiffener to protect it. Hire a shipping pro at your warehouse!!!
JayC99Update,
It has flattend out about 95%. You can still see a slight bend, but it's not worth the hassle of returning it.
But Drop, PLEASE pay some attention to shipping as this is second time out of 4 orders that I've had issues with shipping. Not a good track record.
@AllegoryGoods I know we'd asked before, but I hadn't heard anything- any progress on making one large enough for a Surface Pro ( Width 11.5 in x Height 7.9 in x Depth 0.3 in)? I have one I'm using now (A Knomo Knomad Organizer) but I'd like an upgrade to leather, and this looks like the perfect product... other than the size. I notice that this time around it says tablet rather than iPad, but I can't tell if there has been a change and the Surface Pro 4 will fit.
Any thoughts?
I never got a definitive answer other than the above, unfortunately. I didn't get in on the drop either, so I'm afraid I can't personally verify. But I do know that @AllegoryGoods is very good about customer satisfaction, so I know that they will make it right if it happens not to work out for you.
All,
Drop has removed the engraving option - coordinating that on the back-end has proved to be difficult. I'll message them to make sure the drop info matches that.

isandieI believe so. I will ping massdrop to confirm.
If we can't get it added then you can just email your preference to service@allegorygoods.com along with your massdrop order info and we'll track it on our end.
Thanks!

It shows the tablet - where would the A5 journal go? Can't tell from the pictures. And is that either/or, or could it support an A5 journal AND the 8.5x11 tablet?
Chuck - reread my very first question. I was very descriptive - I called the 8.5x11 "thing" a tablet, and used the dimensions to distinguish the paper tablet from the ipad peeking out of the zipper. All I was interested in was the placement of the "A5 notebook" which was not shown (and now we know it is because it is a unicorn - there was never meant to be an A5 anything, but at the time, that was facts not in evidence.) This isnt my first Massdrop Rodeo, and this certainly isnt my first Allegory purchase. I have 5 of their leather A5 journal covers.
heartsleeve310Neutral corners everyone :) We appreciate everyone helping answer questions and caring enough to put the time in.
After talking with the massdrop team, it sounds like they were referring to the pocket/flap on the left. An A5 notebook can be tucked in there (behind the zipper pouch and business card pocked, but in front of the leather which covers the tablet(device) pocket).
I, for one, would like to see something like this for Jr. Legal pads (5" x 7"). That's what I use for all my note-taking. Don't know how well it would sell. I could just be weird, dunno'.
j.w.wimpyThanks for the suggestion! We're always looking for new ideas. I think this sounds great!
We've just finished a big product development cycle so it may take awhile, but this is something we're very interested in.
Thanks,
Chad
Watched the video--kind of a turn off to tell you the truth.
I dislike purchasing from sellers who think I'm dumb enough to fall for that kind of drivel/pablum. Can only assume the guy is aiming at a more gullible/pliable demographic.
RayFperhaps someday you will be fortunate enough to have someone or someone you are as passionate about as the husband and wife fiber artists in the video... and someone that is as devoted to you when you have nothing else to offer but your hard work and love.
