DimsonThey fit true to size for me. You could probably go a half size up if you’re concerned, but I wouldn’t go a full size up with these. I normally wear a 13 and the 13 fits perfectly for me in these.
I wear size 12 in the Lone Peak 4.0. Would a 12 still work in the King Mt 1.5??

Gentle_Jack_JonesMy normal shoe size is a 13 for most shoes, and I got a 13 in these and it fits great. The only other altras I can compare it to is the Vali sneaker, which I wear in 12.5. I would say order your normal shoe size or maybe a half size up.

Does anyone know the difference between these and the 1.0?

speirs45Hopefully improving the upper and toe box material. My King MT 1.0s basically have holes near the big toe (5th pair of Altras).

speirs45Great question speirs45! As with most 0.5 updates with Altra, the King MT 1.5 is primarily an upper update. The upper on the sophomore product is much more durable than the original. Additionally, the King MT 1.5 is better optimized for rapid water drainage with vent openings strategically placed on the medial (inside of foot) side as well as the front of the toe box. In addition to adding vent openings, the primary fabric of the uppers is a new ripstop fabric that is thin to the point of being nearly translucent, but has strong durability and flexibility. There is a new large stitched overlay on the medial side of the shoe for extra reinforcement in that area, and a number of welded TPU overlays to keep the foot anchored to the midsole. One piece that remains with the King MT 1.5 is the presence of a Velcro lock-down strap on top of the midfoot. It wraps the entire midfoot and is helpful for adjusting the tension of your shoes quickly on the go; you can keep the strap loose on a long climb, then pull it down tight before bombing a downhill to prevent forward sliding. It’s also a convenient place to tuck laces underneath. Below the upper, the King MT 1.5 is largely unchanged. It utilizes Altra’s advanced EGO midsole material that combines soft cushioning with strong bounce resiliency, and is especially effective on a shoe with a relatively low stack height. There is a built-in full length stone guard for impact resistance, and the outsole features Vibram’s MegaGrip compound, which is the stickiest, grippiest, most advanced material Altra offers. Hope that helps!

Not a great deal because of the shipping costs. Altra's website sells them for slightly more and with free shipping.

It says the uppers are "mesh", does that mean these shoes would drain well if used for stream crossings? Looks like they would have good traction and grip on wet slippery rocks when wading across streams.

matt98030Yes I use these up in Maine on at sections. They dry fast and have better traction then lone peaks and superiors... thank you vibram

What is the difference in fit between the women's and men's fit? the length of my foot is 24.13 cm, and it seems like a women's size 8 would be a better fit for me. Any guys who purchased a women's shoes rather than men's?

martiiiinI find the male altra's too wide in the toe box. I have narrow feet and have two pairs of female altras that fit great (add 1.5 to your size)

Just FYI - I looked for these online and noticed that your savings on here is only about $12.00 if you buy anywhere else right now alot of places have these on sale so I can only imagine they are getting ready to bring out a new design. Many people complained about the small toe sides blowing out or wearing out so I imagine they will hopefully fix this problem. Just always check online elsewhere before buying here as nothing is returnable unless it came broken or defective which makes this place less appealing for deals
