How good is the stickiness of the 3M on non-flat surfaces? My headphones now have a bumpy texture on them, and where it's not bumpy, the surface is rounded/curved. Headphones are AKG K44 Perceptions. Thanks! @AntlionJoe

heycassieHey Cassie... *HAH!* - I dont have a K44 handy, but I looked at some pics. I am confident you'll have enough distance to make it work from the area ABOVE the bumps that looks pretty flat. I had a hard time seeing how large those raised bumps are, but if they're not TOO bumpy you could probably get away with placing it there and using a hair dryer to heat the adhesive slightly and then make sure to leave it for an hour to really cure.... but frankly it really does look like that area above the bumps should work in both distance and curvature. Generally speaking though, avoid curved surfaces (slight curve is ok). @heycassie

AntlionJoeThanks for the quick response :D I was thinking the area above the bumps would be too high as a pivot point but since the mic is flexible, I should be able to get it to work. Thanks again!

heycassieI will say it may cause the mic to come in at a weird looking angle (which may be in your field of view), but it shouldn't affect your voice quality if you position it in the right spot (just out of your breath stream). You may have to use some of the strain relief area on the mic to get it as close as possible. My only note for that is to make your ModMic last as long as possible you want the 3.5mm cord after the strain relief to be pointing "down" towards your body. It sounds more complex than it is when you don't have one in front of you :D Basically it just means "use almost all the mic-boom length and then bend the cord sharply at the end so its pointing down-ish"
