Why would somebody want to buy a dual core ddr3 laptop with a 720p display this just doesn’t make any sense to me, apparently Apple fanboys are just that “fanboys” because they clearly don’t care about performance they just want to have the Apple logo in the back of their computers
Shiv100Unfortunately no, believe this one is Katy Lake dual core. The latest is Coffee Lake which is quad core. That will make a difference with photo or video editing.
hoboboboNo, that'll be the next offering...a Massdrop/Apple collaboration, the Macbook PXX where the colorway is midnight blue instead of space grey and the 3.5mm audio jack is replaced with a 1/4" jack for the "desktop dac/amp enthusiast"
I am typing on one of these now! It is currently at 91 degrees Celsius. I am streaming Netflix and posting here, not doing much. BUT THIS THING IS HOT! And besides the class action lawsuit for the keyboard... It is not capable of playing fortnite on ANY setting. You cannot hdmi out to another source through a dongle because it drops signal and resolution every couple minutes. I build computers. I fix computers. You cannot fix what Apple did here. DO NOT BUY! Tim Cook is just trying to make everything smaller and it is ruining their thermals and therefore longevity.
That's fine. I'm not posting this for you, you've already made your decision and you're just flaunting it at this point. My posts are for people who are actually considering this product. The "other side of the story," so to speak.
Why would anyone buy this instead of a new, base model 2018 (for the same price??)? With the update in processors on the new models, this model's hardware is dated. The only reason one would buy this over the 2018 model is to get the touchbar model for a bit less. But as everyone knows who has used a new macbook pro, the touchbar is a complete waste of space (and in fact I would pay more to not have the damn thing, if need be!).
