How would this amp handle a hungry planar?

CarlosUnchainedread the specs dude.... seriously. .13 watt @300ohms isn't terribly powerful as an amp, but it's not super bad either. Probably not for a hungry planar.

CarlosUnchaineddepends on the impedance. Planars (at least Hifiman + LCD-2) are typicaly rather low impedance and power hungry. This amp gives 1.1W at 32 ohms, which is above average. In this category, I can recommend Shiit Lyr (I have first model, "2" should be even more refined), 6W output, with these tubes: http://www.thetubestore.com/Tubes/6922-E88CC-Tube-Types/Electro-Harmonix-6922-Gold
tried multiple amps + tubes, this combination is by far the best for Hifiman HE-400i (which kinda sucks with Fiio A5 or Schiit Magni)

MynnyI tried the Lyr 2 before and I loved it. Just wondering if there's some better choice. I know nothing about tube rolling. So it can change not only the sound signature but also the output power?

CarlosUnchainednope, just the sound signature, output stays at (quite incredible) 6W. But it can change sound signature significantly. Many people say that Lyr is not that good, but just because they stayed with basic stock tubes. I have tried 4 other pairs (2x some soviet tubes from 60´s, Sylvania for 30$ a pair and EH 6922 Gold for 60$ a pair. Soviet ones were a bit too bassy, Sylvania too bright and EHs are perfect.
