Hello ArmourLite,
I will take your word that you have not been monitoring this thread being that the sale is over. I had assumed since I replied directly to you, you would have received an email notification as it is the default setting for a MassDrop account.
Regarding the concerns with my watch, I will email you directly, but there are a few things I want to state here.
The reason I was unaware if it had AR coating or not is because there is no tinge of green, purple, or blue in any circumstance when attempting to look at the glass in a reflective scenario which is typically visible when an AR coating is present. I will also take your word on this, but I'm surprised it was not advertised in the description of the drop.
I will also take your word on the clarity level between your implementation of sapphire on your watches in comparison to your ArmourGlass implementations. However, for my previous daily driver ( Victorinox 241565 ) which sports a sapphire crystal with an AR coating the direct comparison is clearly in favor of the Victorinox. This is of course subjective, and not measured in any other way than my personal perception.
Lastly, I was merely commenting here to share my experience with this product with you and others, I was not looking to receive any support (but would have heavily valued a response), and had no interest in getting a discount, replacement, or any other motivating factors.
I find it conflicting that reading between the lines, you are accusing me of lying about the wear on the band, then immediately after boasting about your customer service level.
The wear shown in my original post is 100% truthfully from one day of use, and here is a picture taken tonight to show just how much more it's worn since:

While I may be critical, I am a very understanding customer, and once again had no motive to fabricate any of what I said about the product. This watch's purpose was something I could feel okay with use, wear, and tear, it was just surprising to see significant signs of wear so rapidly, but ultimately I didn't 'care'. I do on the other hand care very deeply about how a company reacts.
For final transparency, I only share and write these type of experiences so others that do care can avoid the hassle. Watches are precision tools, and most people who are into them, have high standards as well as a high level of attention to such details.
aslplsthxHi aslplsthx, our Customer Service Team has received your email and is working on a solution for you.

I have no experience with this watch, but those lume shots have got to be doctored. Normal tritium is pretty dim. You'll never see them glow that brightly. Think of the worst lume you've ever seen on a watch, and that's about how bright tritium is.

TigoleI don't have an Amourlite watch but I do have a Traser with T25 illumination, Compared to my various Seikos with traditional illumination, T25 is much dimmer if just entering darkness, However my traser is my 'Go To' hunting watch cause even after about 10 years (t25 has a halflife of about 12 years) at 4:30 in the morning (after a whole night of darkness) when its time to get up and get ready it is still very bright to my night adjusted eyes where as the illmuibright watches have become too dim to read correctly unless I destroy my night vision with a flashlight to 'recharge' the illumination.

KilbzWe're not in disagreement. I did state it would take an hour or two before T25 starts looking brighter than Seiko's lumibrite. That's probably too low an estimate. I have woken up at 4:30 several times, and have always found my Seiko divers to be easily readable. It also only takes about a minute for my eyes to adjust to the dark, so I don't know about the destroying night vision part.

I picked up a slightly different ArmourLite model around six months ago. Been wearing it everyday and have been very happy with it. Probably my most favorite watch ever. One question though: Why are gold pvd watches/bands so rare in this category (field, functional) of watches. I would buy this model in gold, with either face color, in a heartbeat.
j.w.wimpyHi j.w.wimpy, we're happy to read of your experience with your ArmourLite! I discussed your question with our design and marketing teams this morning and they explained that for the MIL/LE/Outdoors markets, gold is a tough sell. On the other hand, in our Isobrite Grand Slimline Series we did make a rose gold model since it's more of a 'dressy' watch. What are your thoughts on this particular look?

ArmourLiteThank you for the reply. When it comes to clothing and accessories, I tend to prefer the functional and durable over the fashionable. I like your "Field" series of watches because the case and crystal can take a beating, the metal strap is solid and secure, and the design is pretty straight-forward and not overly complicated (does anyone really use the half-dozen dials on a chronograph?). The slimline watch (for which you have included photos) is alright, but it is more of a "dressier" watch and doesn't really do anything for me. The case color is kinda' "meh". Leather bands (which is what one would expect to see on this watch) are out. I often perspire quite a bit when working in the summer months and a metal band is far easier to clean and keep looking good. One thing I've learned to look for in a watch is good contrast between the hands and the face. In the daytime, the dark hands against the black face of this watch would make it hard to read in daylight or low light conditions (old eyes at work here). When I asked about a gold pvd T25, I hadn't thought about your markets (MIL/LE/Outdoors ). I guess I can see why gold isn't a big seller (sigh). Thanks once again.

Why are watches so dang expensive?

EvanKupecIn this case it is a tritium watch. You are mostly paying for the awesomeness of having an everglow dial .. at least until the half-life of tritium. Otherwise this watch doesn't come close to what the world of watches counts as expensive.

Is Massdrop an authorized dealer? Looked through Armourlites site and Massdrop is not listed as one.

I received my watch today. I got the black one. It looks great. I was not expecting screw pins and only had one 1.5mm hex key, so it took a trip to the hardware store to get a second set of metric allen keys. I've got a NATO strap on it now and it looks good and is also much lighter.
I am happy with the watch and the drop.

Thanks.yes it was the waterproofing I was worried about.the gaskets are usually changed with the battery and I was assuming that it might need to be carried out by a dealership of Armourlite
mctoomeHi mctoome, most repair facilities worldwide will be able to replace the gaskets too and perform a pressure test to recertify the water resistance. We also have a certified service center in Germany as a last resort.
