Eye fatigue can be a serious problem for those in the workplace, and especially for gamers. That’s why the folks over at Arozzi—a Swedish company known for producing high-quality gaming seats—have thrown their hat in the ring of gaming optics Read More
I was very suspicious about this idea at first but in truth it has made my life more comfortable.
When you work or game on a pc you expect and get used to the strain when you finish and put this down to just one of them things and put up with it but since using these glasses once I take them off and walk away from the screen I no longer have that strain on my head and eyes anymore and I find it very refreshing I have an Asus Rog 4K HDR Whitchurch can go up to 144Hz so I was consented this will Reduce the quality of the monitor but instead I actually find the colour change to be sharper and when it comes to calibration within games because of reduced glare I can pick up even smaller changes in colour than I can without the glasses on.
i sometimes even use it with my phone this also helps but not allways within reach as I’m not used to wearing glasses.
infact I often find I leave them on without realising they are on witch is a pain as then I often find them in the kitchen instead of my gaming room
They tell you there is an adjustment period where you will need to wear them for about 3 hours on the first use to get your eyes used to using them, which for me at least is true. When they first arrived, wearing them actually made the eye strain worse for the first hour, but shortly afterwards my eyes adjusted and now after using for about a month I can say that these really work wonders. I no longer have issues at all keeping my eyes in focus when gaming or bingeing Netflix. These glasses have quickly turned into one of those "something I never knew I needed" products and I am very happy with my purchase.
I picked up a pair of Arozzi Visione Gaming Optics, model VX400 – Black, and can't not praise them enough. They are lightweight, look good just like normal glasses but with the yellow tint of course, and fit my face well. The ear bands on the VX400s is metal but slim and does not hurt my ears with over the ear headphones like another pair of Gaming glasses that I have. The lenses also do not smudge nearly as bad as the other pair and cleanup easily. Primarily use these at my work office and will likely get another pair if they come back up for request on Massdrop.
Three stars because these glasses function exactly as described: They block out a fair amount of blue light, reduce eyestrain, and make for a mostly more comfortable gaming experience. They're lightweight, well assembled, and feel like they'll last quite a while. They function perfectly well.
I say they're mostly comfortable, and that's true, as long as you don't want to wear these with over the ear headphones you won't have any problems. Unfortunately wearing these for long periods in conjunction with my gaming headphones really, really hurts me where the ear hooks lay. There is no way to adjust the ear hooks, so I imagine the pain will be here to stay until I get new headphones.
On the topic of form, these are some of the ugliest glasses I've ever owned, the VX600-2 make me look like I should be at a shooting range or starring in a mid 90's DC comic book. I would say that I'd never wear them out in public, but lucky for me these glasses do not function as sunglasses in any way, shape, or form, so it's not like they'll be leaving the house anyway. They are absolutely a single use piece of clothing, seemingly made exclusively for sitting in front of a computer and nothing else.
Pros:
Filters out blue light
Adjustable nose pads
Cons:
Price
Unattractive
Not easily serviced
Cannot adjust ear hooks for comfort
Uncomfortable when worn with headphones
Nose bridge can be seen and can be distracting
If these were $9.99 I would tell you to get yourself a pair, they would be exceptional at that cost and not with second guessing; at $37 though I just can't recommend these glasses. They do everything that they advertise, they block out blue light, but they do it while being uncomfortable and unattractive, and those are both big deals when we're talking about what is essentially an article of clothing. Shop around or buy yourself a pair of yellow "HD driving glasses" instead, you'll thank yourself.
I was very happy, they came with a screw driver. Almost all of the fittings were loose, some were extremely loose. After tightening everything up and adjusting the nose pads, they have been great. There is an adjustment period for eye strain when you first put them on. After the first few days at work I'm now feeling comfortable wearing them all day at work. Good investment.
